Hi,
My husband and I just came from this lovely restaurant and it is such a great breakfast place not even kidding! The food was higher quality than what you get at any McDonalds or IHOP. Please give it a try. The cozy vibes added to it aswell it has this old-timey vibe considering that they've been around for 50years its like stepping into a time capsule. More businesses like these should be preserved and enjoyed so please give it a try. It was so worth it and no doubt one of our new favorite spots in the neighborhood. 🤩

I would have posted pictures but it was too beautiful to wait. I went in expecting a normal basic diner but I went back to my childhood with the vibes of the place. Not only was it decorated so cutely but our server/owner Penny was the kindest person. She was very attentive and made sure our food was served beautifully. Thank you so much for the great experience 🫡🫶🏼

New Delta embodies the genuine, welcoming, pragmatic aspects of old school Chicago I often feel is slipping away. Come and see for yourself. We ordered a patty melt and corned beef hash skillet. We will definitely be back!
New Delta Restaurant did not disappoint!
I came in to eat in a comfortable place while waiting for my car to be serviced down the street. Open seating, Coffee was provided immediately, I was told upfront if something wasn’t available (saving me time while looking at the menu), and the prices were actually fair!
The menu is very easy to read. The food was started and completed promptly. I had a delicious Deluxe Cheese Burger with fries. You are given the option to request the cook on the burger. I missed taking the picture of the meal because I was hungry and it was good. haha.
Aside from the food, I had a lovely conversation with the owner, as today was slower. She gave great advice for my wedding planning set back, and freely shared with me what she contributes to having such a successful business.

I had passed by this restaurant a whole bunch, but I only recently (as in yesterday as of the time writing this!) came in! It's super comfy in here and the service is amazing too!! I also LOVE the strawberry milkshake, I think I'm going to be getting it everytime I come in!

Thank you Penny!!!! This is what I remember a diner should be when I was growing up. I need to make it there before the sloppy joes run out. I will still always get a skillet or omelette. Thank you.

This place is a true hidden gem—a time capsule of Americana layered with stories. It’s the kind of mom-and-pop spot that feels like it hasn’t changed in decades—and that’s exactly why it’s perfect! You walk in and instantly feel like you’ve stepped into someone’s well-loved kitchen and trust me, the owner loves her kitchen, loves what she does, and is the nicest person ever.
The food soothes your soul. Nothing is fussy or overdone, they are just honest, basically homemade meals made with care. It is the kind of place that makes you want to linger over coffee and pie, chatting with the owner and sharing stories.
This place is a true rare treasure in this world that is moving too fast and painting over nostalgia with soulless cookie cutter eating spots.

There's a reason they have 5 stars. A friend and I were visiting the car museum nearby and stopped here for lunch and not only was the food beyond fantastic the hospitality was great too. It's clearly a local place that cares about its everyday customers as well as all of those passing through. Not only that but lunch for 2 (double patty melt, 3 chicken tinder meals and 2 milkshakes) was only $23.
Very good old school food… take me back to my HS days with open lunch. I love their pancakes. My young ones love this places food too especially the burgers.
Vegetarian options: Potatoes, and plates can be done to your taste. Owners are very open to request for their dishes.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, it is wheelchair accessible, is on main level, there’s open space to move around
