Got the beyanetu! Fantastic! My bf, mom, and I LOVED IT !!! Ate too fast to take a picture oops !
Two kids running the place are absolutely clueless and don’t know how to provide costumer service. They also just had one option which has kinda cold and the food it self was very average…

The food at Demera is extremely overpriced, though delicious. Recent menu chanages have made it one of the worst values I've ever experienced at a restaurant. I felt taken advantage of. I got a vegetarian combo, and I finished the entire meal in about 60 seconds. It was hardly any food. How can you leave hungry after spending thirty bucks on food and you eat everything they give you? It's a total ripoff, that's how. I will never eat at this restaurant again, nor would i recommend it to anyone, because it is simply far too expensive for what you receive. Try another spot at Time Out.
Vegetarian options: You will pay fresh seafood prices for a small amount of collards, carrots, cabbage, and injera - a ripoff.

The stew had zero meat and was all bones mediocre flavor and a complete rip off for $21
Great Ethiopian food and injera in a convenient location. So glad they have a stall in the timeout market. We had the vegetarian platter with extra gluten free injera on the side.

The atmosphere was good but the food was not that great. Starting with injera, very sour and then the major platters were not flavorful. They need to do better especially if they want habesha ppl to come..

Such a wonderful dining experience. Went with 4 friends and the food was excellent. I’d recommend 2 of these VEGETABLE BAYANETU (SERVES 2)THE VEGETABLE BAYANETU IS A PLATTER MADE UP OF THE FIRST 9 OF OUR VEGETARIAN DISHES – IT’S THE PERFECT WAY TO TRY A BIT OF EVERYTHING. We also tried the honey wine and enjoyed that .too. I look forward to trying some of the meat options next visit. We did all veggie this visit.

What a great find! Ethiopian food is a favorite of mine, very vegan (& veg) friendly in addition to having meat for my carnivorous friends. Demera has a great selection of dishes from which to choose. I went for the vegetarian combo: a choice of any three veg dishes with injira. I got my 2 Ethiopian favorites: collard greens and cabbage + carrots, plus a tasty mushroom dish. I’ll probably swap out the lentils for the mushroom next time but all three were flavorful and fun to eat. The injira is spongy with that little tang you want and the portions were big enough to fill me up but not so big I felt stuffed. This location is in the Time Out Market in the Fulton Street Market area, and there is a huge indoor seating area with nice wooden tables and stools. Bars surround the seating area so you can go with friends and have a bite and a drink from wherever each person desires.
Vegetarian options: So many vegan choices! Really great options.

I’m pretty disappointed. I’ve had Ethiopian food many times but this was the worst of them all. I ordered a Demera Mossab - every single dish was drenched in oil. There was more oil than the actual dish. There had to have been a half cup of oil in each dish. You get 3 small dishes served in a tray with the Mossab. Quantity was fine and flavor was fine. But the past Ethiopian food I had was all light and not oily. Very disappointed
Absolutely delicious! I am hooked!
great vegan and gluten free options!! very happy with the flavors and so filling
