The vegan platter is always a hit, and I didn't realize when you order a different vegan entree you get two mini sides of different options too! Delicious.

The food is bland and inconvenient to eat. It's like an unfinished burrito that I must construct myself. The price was way too high for what we got. Atmosphere was nice. Waiter was very nice. Food was awful and overpriced. The only reason I'd return is for the honey wine. Have a good day.

Demera is amazing, authentic Ethiopian food. We drive more than an hour to get it and it’s totally worth it. Great service. Highly recommend!

My low rating: It was over-the-top expensive. Not a great value.

This place was an amazing experience for me! I've never had such an incredible combination of flavors in my mouth. We just ordered everything they suggested and it was all spectacular ? ? I would definitely recommend everyone to try this place at least once in their life!

Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options available!

The portions have become insanely small. I ordered a plate for two. Shrimp tibs had three shrimp total. The carrot green bean dish had one carrot one green bean and one potato. Over 50$ for a platter that had no food on it. Will not be going back.

My friends and I like to try different cuisines and I had never tried Ethiopian food before. We ordered the sample for the four of us and the servers brought it out pretty quickly.

The bread that came with it was soft and had a crepe-like texture. it was also sour like sourdough is, but it was delicious. The dishes in the sampler were great. I loved all the selections of greens and the lamb and chicken were delicious. The bread made the dishes easily scoopable. Demera made eating Ethiopian food for the first time a great experience!

This is my second time visiting Demera before a concert at Aragon Ballroom. The first time in 2022 was nice, but I have to say, I was very disappointed this time around. My husband and I LOVE Ethiopian food and were so excited to share a Demera Messob platter for two. The flavor of each dish was quite good, but the portion sizes were honestly tiny. I'm talking probably ~4 bites total for each of the six dishes. I am not a big eater and could have eaten the whole thing myself (though there was sufficient injera, I will say that). Couple that with my husband's healthy appetite, and we had to order another $11 side of tibs to have enough between us after flagging down a waiter to make sure we had actually ordered a two-person meal rather than an appetizer. With one cocktail, the platter, the side, and 20% tip, my total bill was $102. For less than that price at other Ethiopian restaurants, I've shared a four-person platter with family, eaten so much it hurt, and taken leftovers home that fed me for days. Just really not the experience we were hoping for!

Chef Tigist and her team (of 9 nationalities) provide exceptional service and the food was amazing. They have the best Habesha/Ethiopian food in Chicago, I highly recommend the demera mesob and their honey wine. It was a great experince!

Vegetarian options: They have a good variety of vegetarian and vegan options.

Kid-friendliness: They have a kid friendly space and food options.

Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible.

The food was good and healthy. It was different but I would definitely come back. I hate I couldn't stay long due to parking. The atmosphere was amazing too!

Parking: There was this plaza that we parked in the was down the street. I thought it was free parking but it was only free for those who shopped in the plaza so my car got towed. That sucked but it is what it is.
