Absolutely phenomenal. I’ve eaten at several Ethiopian restaurants across the county, and Demera rose straight to the top of that category. Every single dish was bursting with flavor. We enjoyed the messob platter (4 meats, 4 vegetables) among 4 people that surely could have served 5. 10/10. We also enjoyed the ye-asa tibs (whole fish), lega tibs (lamb), and sambussa sampler. The sambussa was the star of the show for me. I’d return for that in particular. We also tried the mitmita and orange crème brûlée. Woah… 20/10. Overall a lovely dining experience and packed on a Tuesday night. They deserve every penny. See you soon!

Ordered takeout through their website and like the other disappointing takeout reviews, received the bare minimum portions of sauce and maybe 2 bones and vegetables for the Messob for 2. It was more like a sampler for 1 person. For $52 I would’ve rather not been screwed over thinking it was a proper meal for two people. There were like 2 tablespoons of each dish and we didn’t even get injera. I’ve had dinner in the restaurant and the portions are not the same. Extremely disappointing and there are many other Ethiopian restaurants in the neighborhood with just as good food at a better value.

5/5 stars all around. Fantastic food, truly friendly service and great location. A perfect night is eating at Demera before hitting Green Mill for music.

Every time I go to Demera I'm delighted. The food surpasses anything else in the neighborhood. I always sample as much as I can, but the chicken, goat, and lentils always stand out.

Please order the creme brûlée. It’s so amazing and I can’t stop thinking about it. It was the perfect blend of sweet, salty, and spicy. The texture was also perfect. We wanted to order beef but they didn’t have it so they kindly offered to make a lamb dish not spicy. The food was made incredibly fast, especially for a substitution. Our server was very kind and helpful in answering all our questions. I love that there’s plenty of seating and nice outdoor seating, too.

This is one of the greatest restaurants, let alone Ethiopian restaurants in the city. The staff is wonderful and accommodating to any needs. The food is phenomenal, and while I was raving over the drink, which included Ethiopian honey one of the managers or maybe it was a Chef gave me a small jar to sample which made my morning teathe star of my entire day. Thank you so much.
