Neat and small restaurant. Seated by ourselves per the hostess/ cashier and served with hot tea. I have to flagged to order. But Floor staffs were nice. Food arrived shortly after we placed. We come here for the amazingly priced and piping hot dim sum. The environment reminds me of the Chinese dim sum places of my childhood, with loud Cantonese being spoken (yelled?), no frills decorations, and delicious food. I’ve tried the other, larger dim sum places in Chinatown proper and find the food is just superior here. I love the preserved egg jook, rice rolls with tofu and yu choy, sumai, radish cake, and taro balls stuffed with beef here. The only item that ever disappoints...
Overall Thoughts: This is a solid dim sum option on the outskirts of Chinatown, about a 20 minute walk from central Chinatown. As such, it’s a lot less crowded than the other dim sum spots in Chicago and was relatively empty when we went on a Sunday. It was also cheaper than other Chicago dim sum spots I’ve been to— it was just under $16 per person + tip for a group of 10. Overall, the food is good and tasty. They have all/most of the classics as well as a few unique items...
