This visit was a while ago (~ Sept. 2025), but I’ll be dining nearby and wanted to leave my review before I forgot again.
The service was pretty good! Our waitress sat us down relatively fast. She forgot silverware, sauces for sides (often), and the check.
The food was nostalgic to middle school cafeteria lunch. I ordered a burger. A simple, easy burger (w/o cheese because I’m ALLERGIC, not intolerant). They delivered it without cheese, but I also asked for medium rare on the meat. It was well done, flavorless, and tough to chew.
My date got a chicken parm pasta dish (which was doused in cheese, so we couldn’t switch), so I ate my cold, re-heated fries that came with the burger and that’s it.
I came for a quick bite and left highly disappointed. I’d rather go the Shake Shack, to be quite frank.

Cassandra, the General Manager came out to our table of 4. One of the guests at our table ordered chicken that came out (40 minutes after we ordered) that was COMPLETELY RAW!!!! The other 3 guests at our table did not enjoy or finish our meals because the food was not seasoned, it was extremely bland and not hot or warm. We decided not to complain but pay our bill and leave. The GM found out about us not being happy with the food, she came to the table and told us about being from Florida and how we should order Doc B's “famous key-lime pie”, to which we declined. There was no option from management, the “grill cook” who also visited our table or our waitress to reduce our bill, choose other entree options or coupons for a future visit. WE WILL NOT BE BACK for service. We were not please with the food, the added attention with no real results or the additional information about how good the key-lime pie is... there was NO mention or apology for chilled, unflavored, raw food. No real effort made to correct the issues. Ode this reason we will not return to Doc B's in Chicago on East Grand Avenue.
Great family fun and food was amazing!

New manager was very attentive as the space heater needed to cool down so it got it a little coould before it could be restarted
Food was great as always. The Wok Out bowls with the Lo Mein are so good. Lot's of options protein and sauce options and the noodles are the best. Servers were friendly and attentive, but the food came out a little slower than normal. It was very cold outside, but the restaurant was so cold. Most of our group kept their jackets, hats, etc. on due to the temps inside. Good experience overall though and we'll be back when it warms up.
Love Doc B and have always had exceptional meals with exemplary service! Today was no exception. We each enjoyed the Wok bowls with our preferred proteins-chicken for him, tofu for me. Both were great! The peanut sauce is creamy and nicely spiced, coating the charred veggies in just the right amount. The dessert of the day was a pot du creme that was creamy chocolate deliciousness topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings-yes please. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Natalia was attentive and added so much to the overall experience. Illy coffee served piping hot and a nice end to the meal.
The chicken wings are the best in the world!! Love them. Food is always consistently Good and service is always on point and friendly

Doc B's is one of my favorites when I visit River North. Food is delicious and service is excellent.
We came here because the menu looked like it had a couple things that would be light and I had a little bit of an upset stomach. I got the chicken soup and my daughter got the viral chicken ceaser wrap. I got a mocktail and that was great too! The dip came out bubbling which was pretty cool! Dede is on top of her game! Everything was awesome!
