I was walking around the neighborhood and noticed the sign for New Dokil Bakery. Dokil 독일 means German/Germany in Korean, and the sign reminded me of one of my favorite Kdramas Reply 1988.This store is a cute neighborhood bakery that sells delicious Korean breads, some with cream fillings. The bread tastes fresh and homemade, and it's priced reasonably. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming. They makecakes to order as well, so next time I have a special occasion I'll try ordering from New Dokil Bakery.I like to support local businesses over international franchises, and I'm impressed that they have been in operation for over forty years!

Ordered the Strawberry Yogurt Cake and it was very good! It’s the perfect not too sweet cake. Everyone loved it and was asking where I got it from. Very easy to order too! I also really appreciated the inclusion of candles and a cake topper, the box is also super cute!

The owner is literally the sweetest person ever. We went a while ago, but forgot to write a review. Anyway, first time I tried the cream filled bread was in Michigan at a small Korean store and I knew I had to go visit the original bakery. So me, my husband and my brother who was visiting from Mexico drove all the way to Chicago to go to the store. The owner was so nice, she talked to us, she gave us some extra goodies. The place is clean and nice, and the whole experience was so extraordinary. We moved to South Carolina and we miss going to buy some delicious bread. They also have a vegetable filled savory bread that is DELICIOUS. I truly, 100% recommend this place.

Grace made a beautiful custom cake for my sister’s 30th birthday party! She made it very easy to place a custom order and was so helpful with loading it into my car to ensure that it didn’t move around while transporting to the venue. The cake was a hit, it was on theme and absolutely delicious. Thanks for helping to make the day special!! Would highly recommend working with New Dokil for any occasion, small or large!

I'm a big fan of their bean bread and twisted donuts, but I’ve had fun trying everything that they have to offer. Everything’s been great. This is definitely my favorite bakery nearby. Grace is so helpful and friendly!

Best cake in the world:) I ordered a sweat-potato cake. Actually I couldn’t find a sweat potato cake nowadays, but I found it here. I’m so satisfied.
