This was the ideal breakfast spot on a Saturday morning. We walked around that Barnes and Noble in the old bank, and then had a delicious meal. Our waitress, Miranda, was fantastic!

What a cozy, quaint and enjoyable place to have a meal… It has the vintage diner vibe, and the food leans Mexican cuisine. I had the brisket hash and it’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had. They have housemaid sauces/condiments and I cannot recommend the chili/garlic/sesame oil for your eggs or potatoes enough! Everything is either made in house or from a local bakery/vendor. The mimosas we had were also top-notch – easily the best I’ve ever had. Cortland (hope I’m spelling that right) served us at the bar and was extremely friendly and pleasant. The music is all vinyl, which was another fantastic touch. A lot of older, Tejano and Cumbia music played, but Cortland ended up putting on the flaming lips, which felt just as good. This is a must see/must eat at establishment. It also helped that it was our first full day in Chicago and the sun was shining… The entire Wicker Park area is really sweet to walk around in, but make sure you eat at Dove‘s!

Phone does not eat first at Doves, I do. Hence, no picture of the hash brisket. Pour some of their in house salsa macha on top and you will understand my first sentance. This place is always worth the trip. Sat at the bar. Server was super pleasant to chat with. Glad to a classic stainless steel bar still in use.

You can tell them to put less salt in everything. And when it's ready to simply bring things out rather than waiting. And that you're going to order a lot of food. And that you want large spoons, like the one pictured. If they tell you they only have the tiny ones for coffee, that is not factual.
Masa pancakes, back to life cocktail, brisket hash, chicken fried chicken, deviled eggs, gem salad. Probably never ordering the burger again, especially after having it from the happy hour menu.

We just had another magical meal at Dove’s Luncheonette. We first discovered Dove’s back in May, and it’s been on our minds ever since. Now, whenever we’re in Chicago or passing through, we make sure to stop by. The atmosphere is cool, the service and staff are wonderful, and the food is amazing. Honestly, it’s my very favorite restaurant. Can't wait to come back!

Worth the hype.
All of the basics are done really well (eggs, toast, bacon) and they add their own twists to some dishes to really make them stand out: burnt ends hash, horchata iced coffee (add the rum).
Despite a very busy holiday Monday morning service, the host was very welcoming. We waited less than expected and the table service was great - every recommendation was awesome.
my BLT was good, not outstanding, but the saltine, cheese and pickle appetizer was fantastic, such a great combination of flavors, still thinking about it.

Great spot for breakfast! Plenty of classic options with a twist. I ordered the breakfast plate with two eggs, toast, potatoes and choice of meat. The bacon was phenomenal and thick, and the potatoes were so crispy and flavorful. The portion size was very generous and I couldn’t finish it all, it was a great bang for your buck. I was able to walk right in and sit at the counter as a solo diner on a busy Sunday morning after the farmers market. Service was very quick, friendly, and attentive.
