I went to Duke’s, 7901 S Stony Island Ave, Chicago, IL 60617 on July 2nd before the holiday and, surprisingly, had a great time.
This is a 35 and up spot with an older crowd, primarily playing house music. The DJ eventually switched it up with some urban hits mixed into the house set, which kept the energy flowing. There is security at the door, which was a plus for me.
I arrived around 7 PM, and there was already a good crowd. I met up with family and friends who had secured seats, which was great because otherwise, we would have been standing all night. The venue is on the smaller side, but it’s comfortable, with a circle bar in the middle.
They had three bartenders, but at times it felt like there was only one because service could be slow, especially when they moved to the other side of the bar. Another downside was that they didn’t serve food, which was a bummer since we were drinking for hours.
The drinks were also a bit pricey. I spent about $178 the entire night, which felt excessive, but I was buying drinks for three people, and drinks averaged around $10 each. There were no drink specials, so keep that in mind if you plan to go.
Overall, would I go back? Yes, but only if I make sure I have the money to enjoy myself properly. The vibe, music, and mature crowd made it a good night out.

I was there Friday, November 29 and they were banging the box. It was off the chain. I wanna know who they have for their next months lineup. You wanna listen to good House music go to Duke on Friday night 9 o’clock.

There was a House event that was scheduled for 4 hours. We got there 2 hours after it started hoping we could catch the last half, but it was wall to wall people and people coming out complained about how hot it was inside. We ended up having to go back home.

This southside staple has passed the test of time.If you are a house head WOW, Friday nights are unbelievable. This place stays packed. Get there early to get a spot inside. As for dancing, the dancing area is limited due to the size of the bar and the number of people that are in attendance.If you are a visitor to Chicago and want to experience the nightlife, then Friday's nights at Dukes, it is a MUST.

Nice adult bar atmosphere not a whole lot of seating. Early arrival suggested same for parking especially on Fridays. The DJ is awesome they do not sell food but will let you bring food in from local restaurants.
Parking: Share parking with another restaurant. Will get towed if in Restaurants parking spaces.
