Unfortunately my experience at Dulce de Leche wasn't the best.

The positives: service was very friendly. Very small restaurant but nicely decorated.

The negatives: I ordered the torta ahogada, which came with a side of roasted tomato soup. The sauce used in the sandwich was very sweet, almost like a barbecue sauce or ketchup, and very strong. It overpowered the other flavors in the sandwich and overall just didn't taste great. While the soup had a nice roasted tomato flavor, it was unfortunately oversalted to the point that I couldn't finish it.

I'm giving 2 stars overall, though as I said I appreciated the friendly service. If I go back, I may try the coffee and breakfast items as they seem to have more positive reviews.

It was an absolute DELIGHT to visit Dulce de Leche Cafecito. Omar and his son, Andy, were beyond welcoming and provided top-top service from the moment we opened the door. They were happy to accommodate our large 11-person group, and it was truly one of the most warm and cozy places to spend our time.

Not only were the service and atmosphere impeccable, but the food was even better. With a plethora of dishes to choose from, every person in our party was blown away by the deliciousness of the food and its presentation. The dulce de leche crepe justifies the choice in naming the restaurant what it is. We were so satisfied with the food that we asked Omar and Andy to bring out the kitchen staff so that we could applaud them.

If you’re in Chicago, be sure to dine at Dulce de Leche Cafecito. You won’t be disappointed.

The service here is exceptional, with staff making every effort to ensure a memorable experience. The food quality was outstanding, with each dish showcasing authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. It’s rare to find a place that excels in service, food, and ambience, but Dulce De Leche Cafecito delivers.

We were visiting from San Diego during Pride weekend and needed a spot for breakfast and coffee. We found this place and it was AMAZING! We had a big group of 11 and they made space for us outside. I ordered the Dulce de leche coffee and their breakfast burrito that was their special for the day (not on the regular menu) and it was sooooo good! The staff was so attentive and the food came out so fast. I highly recommend a visit here if you’re in town!

I would normally give this place 4 stars. I love bread pudding and felt like this was the only place in Chicago that has good bread pudding. Unfortunately, with my last order the bread pudding didn't have the caramel on it and it was so plain and without flavour because of it.

Just came for a regular coffee and found it to be much more! They have a full menu for breakfast/brunch with a plethora of different latte's. I got their Orange Honey Latte with Almond Milk which was a little sweeter than I like but it was delicious nonetheless! I also got their Alfajores which are Amazing! Not too sweet.. perfectly soft and flaky. So I bought 2 more to share with others. The cafe is quaint, welcoming, and they have outdoor seating which is perfect for a breezy, sunny day! The staff is pleasant and you can tell they love what they do. No parking lot but tons of free street parking!! Definitely will come back for their breakfast when I in the area.
