We first came here because of the high reviews and we made a reservation by phone around 8pm. The receptionist told us to order food in advance so we followed the advice of the restaurant. We ordered 4 dishes and told the restaurant that there would be 4 of us to make sure there would be enough tables and food.

However, when we arrived on time, there were no tables available. We had to wait 20 minutes to get a table. We then had to wait another 30 minutes for the first dish to arrive even though we had already ordered in advance. We were very hungry. Two of our friends decided to leave the restaurant and go to another restaurant nearby instead. My friend and I stayed.

When the food arrived at our table we could barely eat it. The fried chicken was very salty and the fried fish had a strange taste and smell. The fish meat was not fresh. We were not sure if it was spoiled or not.

The restaurant was very small and full of people waiting for a table. The restaurant smelled bad. Looking around the dining area, there were piles of leftover food and dishes on the empty tables. Customers had already eaten and left. We tried to get their staff's attention to inform them about the issue with the taste of the food we ordered but the staff was not friendly at all, and walked out of the dining area into the back of the restaurant for a long time. We noticed that the staff did not pay attention to us, and did not approach or look at our table. Luckily, two of our friends left so they didn't have to witness our bad experience.

The food was presented well but the service and taste of the food was very disappointing. The price of the food was expensive and not worth what we paid, so it was not enough to make us come back for a second time.

Eat Fine Restaurant absolutely blew me away. The service was impeccable – attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. But the real star of the show was the food. Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and creativity. The chef clearly has a passion for culinary excellence. I can't wait to go back and try more of their amazing creations!

The food at Eat Fine Design matches some of the very best Thai we’ve ever had!

The Kra Prow Puffs (chicken) were the standout dish and I could eat an entire meal of them! The pastry was hot and flaky and lent itself well to the filling inside. We also shared the Garlic Pork Ribs which were good but our least favorite dish.

My Kra Prow Gai Khai Dao ground chicken dish was full of nuanced flavor and paired well with the fried egg and rice. The green curry had tremendous depth and “mild” still had a good amount of spice. Still thinking about how good the food was!

Heads up this is reservation only. The woman behind the counter was working hard serving the entire dining room while also prepping to go orders.

Can’t wait to stop in again for dinner!

We stopped for take out and the food was superb! Delicious and they were accommodating of my food allergies. Their spice levels are very spicy and perfect for me. They did warn me about it ahead of time so I went for 4 out of 5 instead of my usual 5. All around, very very good food. Will visit when we're back!

Eat Fine Design by Khun Kung offers an exceptional Thai dining experience in the heart of Chicago. The sleek, modern decor creates a welcoming atmosphere, while the food is a true standout. We started with the Tom Kha Soup, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with flavors of coconut, lemongrass, and a hint of spice. The Panang Curry was equally impressive—tender chicken in a fragrant, slightly sweet sauce that was comfort food at its finest. The Drunken Noodles were packed with flavor and the Fried Chicken Gyoza was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor.

What truly made the experience special, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making sure our meal was perfect from start to finish. They took the time to explain the dishes and even suggested pairings, which added a personal touch to our visit.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting Chicago, Eat Fine Design by Khun Kung is a fantastic spot for high-quality Thai food and top-notch service. Highly recommend!

We made a reservation 1 day ahead. The food was very good, especially the green curry with chicken. The tilapia dish had a lot of flavor and the presentation was nice. The app sausage was nothing special and somewhat fatty.
The service was super slow.
Ambiance was underwhelming with big boxes of to go dished prominently displayed in the middle of the room. We still don't understand why this place is by reservation only.
We might try it one more time.

Ordered delivery, rolls are good, red curry not so great, zero crispness to da duck, little duck meat, and overall not wow 😩

They don’t take walk-ins, so make sure to call to make a reservation! It’s a small restaurant with limited staff, but the food was GOOD; we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered:

- Crispy Chive Cake: Really tasty and crispy… the perfect appetizer.
- Durian Massaman Curry: As a durian lover, this dish is what I came for and it didn’t disappoint— the durian flavor is strong and there were sizeable chunks inside…. the curry was so rich and creamy.
- Tom Yum Noodle Soup: Really really enjoyed this as well; the soup was so delicious and flavorful, and the noodles absorbed the flavors well.
- Duck Red Curry: Quite good as well, but not as good as the other 2 entrees in my opinion; the duck was nice and crispy.
- Durian Crepe Cake: Had to end the meal with durian too; this was solid, but kind of wish it had more durian flavor.

It was quite pricey— ~$45 per person, but it felt totally worth it and I’d gladly return to try more of the menu!!

Excellent and authentic Thai food. Be aware that their lower spice level is already hot for average people 😜

We ordered a Crispy Chive Cakes as starter, a durian massanman curry with stewed beef mild spicy, a Pad See Ew with shrimp and mango sticky rice. Every dish is good. Remember to make a reservation.
