This place is great!! Great service, beautiful venue. Shout-out to the owner and my fellow Arizoner!

Don't listen to the bad reviews, I've gone multiple times after work and in the evenings. Great food (love their grilled cheese) drinks are very quality for the price!!

Wandered in here with my husband after work and I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing drinks, friendly staff, the food is phenomenal! The wagyu Chicago style hotdog is probably the best version of a chi-style hotdog I’ve ever had, and I’m a native of this city. If you’re a foodie like me me, don’t sleep on this hidden gem.

Nothing is wrong with this place, I’m giving it a low rating simply because the prices do not match the serving size. Look, $10 for a cup of soup is highway robbery, especially when the soup is 90% broth. Labeled as a bowl, the chicken and dumpling soup came out and I was shocked at the size. At any other restaurant that would be the cup of soup, not the full serving. The “dumplings” were the size of oyster crackers, and there were maybe 4, 4 pieces of chicken… it’s just not worth it. Go for a cocktail, grab a dessert before or post show, but don’t eat dinner here no matter its convenience.

Adorable spot with a beautiful bar. The menu appears to be more for the lunch crowd (soups, sandwiches, and salads), same with the portion sizes. The Pea Rigatoni was on the smaller side (especially for $27), but was delicious. Loved the chicken dumpling soup (especially the adorable mini cast iron it came in).

Only one server was working the entire restaurant before the opera, so as the place filled up, we went over a half hour without a check-in, which was frustrating because we wanted another round of drinks. The cocktails were fantastic, especially the Poblano Picasso (Fords Gin Salers, Ancho Reyes, Green Chartreuse). Will definitely return for cocktails!

We ate there last night before our show at the opera started.
The food was awful! My wife had a soup that was absolutely uneatably salty. They took it off the bill, but other food we ordered was just as bad.
Meatballs tasted so tough, like they were frozen forever. Over all, not a good experience at all. It's a shame because it's next door to the opera house.
I would NOT recommend this place to anybody.

A wasted opportunity. The ambience and design are perfect. It ends there. People come before a performance and want to get in the mood - being served by an inattentive waiter in old jeans and a flannel shirt doesn’t cut it. The drinks are decent, but only if caught at the happy hour price. Can’t tell you about the full priced ones - I had to cancel my second drink after a 25 minute wait. The food is a horrible attempt at simple elegance. Bread, butter and olives - sounds great if you are just peckish. What arrives? Four slices of stale bread, that despite a fanciful name tastes like Wonderbread. The one slice perceptibly more ancient than others, suggesting they came from various loafs (eeek, recycled from other plates?). The olives warmed to the point of becoming a compote, in no way relating to the taste profiles of unsalted and flavorless butter (forgot the Maldon?) or its “honey” cousin. There is a reason why southern European food is good: it is the quality of ingredients. My son had a beef sandwich: uninspired, dry, served with chips from a bag (now we are insulting cafes of Southern Europe). This place doesn’t get it. I glanced around other tables: all pretentious, all underwhelming. In this building? You must do better.

Went here for a happy hour date after work and had a great experience. I had made a reservation the night before so had no trouble getting seated. Friendly staff and hostess. Happy hour offered great deals on cocktail and small bite options. The drinks were great. The hash browns option was underwhelming but the shrimp po boy was very tasty.

Beautiful place but not good food and people. They don't have a real kitchen or ovens, just warmers. Don't even warm there bread. It's cold and hard. Kind of like the hospitality you can expect from. This establishment.

Not a good place for pre-performance meals. Will not return. Heavily recommend going ANYWHERE else. Here’s why:

We came to have lunch at 12 PM before a 1 PM matinee.

1) The amazingly rude hostess left us all standing on the sidewalk until 12:02 PM in
20° F weather. 20 degrees folks - many of us with children under 10.

Instead of allowing us inside and simply saying she couldn’t see us yet she just stared at us from inside the door.

2) Timing / Rushing. When she finally did unlock the door, late, I might add, she sat everybody as slowly as human possible. By the time we were seated, it was 12:15.

3) Food. Meh. Lunch options were much more limited than what I saw online. The food was adequate, but not particularly interesting.

4) Non-alcoholic drinks =nada. I asked for an orange juice for my niece, and was told there was only enough orange juice to make mimosas. Hah.

The only good part of the experience was my waiter who was rushing because all ofus were in for the show.

Made myself and three other sick. Was convenient to go to show but what a mistake it turn out to be. Still don’t feel well after nearly one week.
