I recently visited Eggoholic - Downtown Chicago and overall the food was really good. The flavors were great, everything tasted fresh, and the service inside was nice. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for good Indian street-style food downtown.
However, the main issue we faced was parking. We parked on left side behind the restaurant for just a minute, and by the time we went back within a min to move the car, there was already a boot placed on it. It ended up costing us $170, which was very frustrating.
So just a heads up to anyone visiting — make sure you do NOT park behind the restaurant, even for a short time. Be very careful about where you park to avoid an expensive surprise.
Request to Restaurant:- please make a sign outside that parking space that “ no parking for eggoholic customers inside that parking “
Thanks

We got two chicken & rice dishes, which were both good, and dal makhani which was my favorite dish - light, great flavor.

Loved this place. Super unique options and incredibly delicious.
I come to Chicago once in a while and this is a staple. I order the same thing over and over again and it never disappoints - omelets with rotis and chai at the end. I love the fact that this is EXACTLY as advertised and nothing more or nothing less. Takes me back home when this was my daily breakfast. Can I make it at home? Probably. Would i rather go to a different state where Eggholic is and eat this there? You bet i will. I have no input on anything else lol, but the omelet+roti just tastes like home and that's just a personal preference.
(Also want to shout out to the interior decor team for their creativity with the very cheesy and very on the nose quips on the wall and on the serving sheets - they're fun and lighthearted and creative 💯)
The only feedback I can give is that the chai can be a bit warmer? But it doesn't really bother me, soo 🤷🏽♂️

worst Surti gotala i ever ate. Ordered mild gravy was too sweet with sugar with no taste whatsoever. never had this types of taste anywhere else in the egg holiday restaurant
Absolutely horrible food prompted me to write my first google review for any restaurant.
Ordered the paneer masala sandwich and the egg bullet curry (can’t remember the exact name).
The bread for the paneer masala sandwich tasted stale. And the paneer was so chewy it felt like I was chewing rubber. I get they don’t make the paneer mix everyday but if you’re charging $12 for a simple sandwich, I expect fresh-er ingredients. Horrible sandwich for an exorbitant price.
The egg bullet curry was so awful it felt like they forgot the masalas. All I could taste was boiled eggs, spring onions and oil. For $16, this dish was beyond terrible and I’m surprised it even made it to the menu. This was my last time ordering from this restaurant.

Restaurantji Recommends
Ordered a delivery: the butter chicken was not spicy and very unflavorful and super super oily, I poured the oil out of mine that's how much was there also the meat was huge super unappetizing looking. The rice and parathas were good. Will not be getting or recommending.

Got the paneer butter masala for take out here and it is way too oily. We got it as Indian spicy which the spice level didn’t disappoint, but apart from that the gravy has no flavor. The rotis were also nothing special. Definitely better option for indian take out

I had high expectations based on the reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. We ordered pav bhaji, and the quality was so poor that we couldn’t even finish a single pav. We ended up throwing the entire meal — an absolute waste of time and money.
I sincerely request that you please preserve the authentic taste and richness of Indian cuisine instead of altering it . True Indian food, when prepared with its original flavors and methods, is inherently delicious and needs no compromise.

I had my worst experience here!!
I asked the server couple questions regarding the curry’s but seems like he wasn’t interested at all very rude behaviour and also told him that we are taking it out so we don’t have any plates to provide so when I asked him for plates he told that he can’t provide disposable plates? For real?
We are from Michigan and whenever we visit Chicago this has to be my go to forever place but the staff treating me with side eye is not something any customer looking for!!
I am not buying anything for free , I am paying for it , I would like to have same amount of respect back!!
I am never coming back here again!
