This is my second review for Eggy's...now I'm back in town with my wife and had to bring her here for breakfast. She had the Florentine Crepes, I had the Irish Skillet, and we split the Cinnamon Roll Pancake...a PHENOMENAL recommendation by our server, Jason. In a city known for it's food culture, Eggy's is STILL my favorite. Nestled next to Lakeshore East Park, it almost feels like an insider secret. I've now eaten here 4 times over two trips to Chicago, 6 months apart, with a different server and a different meal each time, and I still look forward to coming back. Ask for Jason, he'll take great care of you.

Food quality is ok. It’s comforting food with large portions and higher price.
The lacking part is service. They are clearly understaffed and become unorganized as more and more customers come. We almost missed our bus because they take too long to check out!

Came here for brunch and had the chicken and waffles (a speciality item). Wow, I've never had such bland chicken. The portion was large but it was just a lot of flavorless chicken. Not worth the price.
Service was great though.

We were there a large group for a weekend brunch. As an european tourist, what can I say...well...portions were huge, prices maybe just a little on the expansive side and food tasted very good ( but not wow! though). Be careful with the sweet side of the menu...everything is really, really sweet...but I think this is about a local aquired taste...

Nice place for breakfast with plenty of options. Spinach and scrambled egg crepes were tasty (crepes themselves were a little sweet and perhaps better paired with the other filling choices). Other party enjoyed green eggs and ham plate (subbing bacon for ham) - ate it up!

The food here is not as great as people think - never understood why there is ever a line. Not to mention the trash piled up in the park from to go orders

Favorite breakfast/brunch place in Chicago. Coffee is smooth and rich. Everything on the menu is good and packed with flavor. Good options in every breakfast category (omelette, skillet, Benedicts, waffle, French toast, pancake, à la carte). Nice atmosphere and vibe. Jason provided excellent service and welcomed my guests from out of town, who said they want to come back if they’re back in Chicago.

Eggy’s Diner, amazing experience! Great service and definitely worth the visit. The only downside is that if you’re not familiar with the area it can be a bit tricky to find, but just head down the main avenue, look for the sign, and take the elevator down. Highly recommended!

Great and affordable breakfast spot. Service was good but I wouldn’t have minded our server checking in and asking if we’d like a refresh on our cocktails.

Great place for breakfast in a central but quiet location. We enjoyed eggs, potato and sausage as well as the avocado toast. Only hiccup was that the toast was thin and soft which made it impossible to pick up and eat in your hand. Very friendly service.

Great service, great food. Waiter remembered me the second day I visited. I highly recommend this establishment. The chicken and waffles were great! The second a day I had the Denver omelet, YUM! The portions are huge! I couldn’t finish either meal.
