Every single dish I had here made my jaw drop! The food here is amazing and I’m a harsh food critic. My friends and I ordered sushi, the lamb chops, a salad, the shrimp tempura and the steak. The sushi is some of the best I’ve had in Chicago- very fresh, tasty and unique flavors. My favorite dish was the lamb chops. Also, I absolutely love the ambience/ vibe of this place and the service is great. This might be one of my new favorite restaurants in Chicago!

Great opening party! Loved the sliders, drinks, and the insta 360! Bailey is a great connector for events at Maple and Ash. Very cool venue with 3 distinct dinning experiences. Maple & Ash’s main dinning room is beautiful for celebrations or special gatherings. The Studio at Maple & Ash is an elevated speak easy with live entertainment and views of The Miami Heat Arena. The new Eight Bar seems slightly more casual but nonetheless, very beautiful. Excited for what’s in store for Eight Bar!

honestly? the waiter made a really weird comment about the people i was with/my dynamic with them and while it may have been well intentioned it ruined my vibe and was really inappropriate. I also work a client facing role and would never intrude like that.

ve been to Maple & Ash before, so I already had high expectations—and Eight Bar did not disappoint. I stopped in for a solo lunch on the patio this past Wednesday and had Raymond as my server. He was super attentive, polite, and made the whole experience feel top tier. The food was delicious, just as I expected based on my past experiences at Maple & Ash. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back—and I absolutely plan to have Raymond as my server again. 10/10!

That said, the experience varies significantly depending on where you’re seated. Indoor service is attentive and professional, enhancing the overall vibe. However, if you’re seated outdoors, expect a noticeable drop in service quality — slower and less responsive compared to the inside.
More concerning is the outdoor ambiance. While the location tries to extend the Maple & Ash brand, the outdoor area suffers from a persistent and unpleasant urine smell — likely due to ongoing issues with nearby homeless activity. It’s clear that this area needs more frequent cleaning or power washing to meet the standards guests associate with Maple & Ash.

A true hidden Gold Coast gem inside the first floor of Maple & Ash. Open for lunch, brunch, and dinner. There isn't a time I wouldn't want to be at the bar eating sushi, a burger, and french fries!

Came here with a friend for dinner on a Thursday. Fantastic experience. Menu was great. You should definitely order the table s’mores dessert!! I only had one bite but it was so cool!! The staff is really nice here. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a fun dinner!

This place is pure perfection, it’s casual but also feels luxurious at the same time. Great spot for a work dinner or date night. I can’t stop myself from coming back for the king crab roll and the pornstar martini it’s incredible. They are also very good with reservations and will usually have a table available even in short notice. Also they have valet parking for only $20. Overall a must try.
