We come here all the time! The food and service is amazing.They have affordable week day specials.We went today for our anniversary and the cakes were so delicious. Highly recommend!

My wife and I frequent this place once a week and the food is authentic and incredible. Basically if you want good Mexican food, you need to be in Chicago. El Charro is the best we’ve had in the city in the past 25 years!!!

The albondigas they make reminds me of home

I used to go to El Charro for lunch weekly but I left the area. I had a chance to go back this past weekend and the food is still so delicious! I recommend the gorditas!

My family and I ate here. Let me tell you I would not recommend this restaurant. I ordered chilaquiles and they were very soggy and taste horrible. Before ordering I made sure to tell my waitress I want them crunchy. When I received my order they were soggy. Instead of apologizing the owner disputed with me on how I should order them to receive them correctly cooked. When I clearly told the waitress I want them crunchy not soggy and drained with sauce. Not once did the waitress check on us I had to wait until very late to tell them about my order. Poor customer service and poor quality food.

Havent been there in years until today must be new owners, $3 per taco and they are little street tacos, ridiculous price and definitely not worth it, this place was a spot i would always frequent when back in the area, time changes everything.

Being in my mid 30s, Mexican, and lived in Mexico for a few years as a kid, not including the times I went back for vacation to Mexico, this restaurant "El Charro" is still my favorite taco place! I had tacos in many restaurants. Alot of good ones, BUT!!! NONE hit the spot for me like the ones from here. They're always fast too! Good prices! You'll be the 2nd car at McDonald's waiting for some garbage food for a long time while I'm already enjoying the best tacos in the world! Lol I go here often. For almost 30 years now. Thank You El Charro!
