I'm in Chicago from Virginia (near Washington DC) for business. I was looking for a good steakhouse near my hotel and found El Che'. I HIT THE JACKPOT!!! Best steak I've had, best wedge salad I've had, the dessert was awesome, the service was great. I have no complaints at all, other than the fact that I wish there was an El Che' in the DC Metro Area.

I was recommended to try this place and it did not disappoint. Well worth it. I will be back.

Over all a great experience, especially the service! My only “complaints” would be the wine mark up is on the very high end, and of course the ridiculous 3% fee most Chicago restaurants are trying to stick us with. We will be back for sure.

Guerrermo was very attentive and knowledgeable. We will return for the NY strip. The ribeye was delicious and the mushrooms.

Had the Oyster app, they were done well and I would order again. For dinner we both had the Bone-in Ribeye. The meat was cooked to perfection! We also ordered the Mushrooms and Frittes and both were excellent. The Wine menu is certainly extensive and we enjoyed a Malbec bottle and both claimed it as our dessert to finish it off. I am certainly going to return here on my next trip to Chicago!

The servers were fantastic and very friendly. The food was great. The lighting was too low near the bar.

Had Sunday 5PM dinner reservations for the family. Arrived around 4:58PM, at 5PM tried to open the door but it was locked, wasn't opened till 5:02-5:03PM as the line slowly built outside. Upon entry we were promptly seated and greeted by our waiter. For appetizers we ordered the Italian beef empanada and it was quite good. The steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection, and accompanying sauces really enhanced the flavor. For sides we ordered the beef fat fries, charred broccolini, and the japanese sweet potatoes. We really enjoyed the broccolini with the tanginess of the romesco sauce. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience, and would most definitely return.

I went with my father who was in town from Florida. We got seated at the chefs counter, right in front of the grill. It was such a great experience all around. The food was delicious, service was great, and the whole vibe of the restaurant was really cool. Special shoutout to Eddie, the head chef!

From start to finish, our dining experience was incredible. Huge props to the Front- and Back of House teams for a remarkable service. Everything we had was delicious, the cocktails were great, the wine paired perfectly with our steaks. Dessert was perfectly indulgent. El Che is a restaurant that I will dine at again. No freaking notes.

El Che is one of my fave restaurants and is always a priority to come to for dinner. The host was so accommodating and the bartender made the best margs. I enjoyed the surf and turf at his recommendation- no notes! See you soon next time I'm in town.

My husband and I brought our 2 month old to the restaurant as first time parents and they were so accommodating and nice about it. The manager even offered to hold her while we ate. The food was also amazing, but the customer service was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant. The ambiance was also very cool.

Love the vibe in here. Our server was awesome and helped us pick the perfect cut of steak that Im still thinking about a week later! The scallops were excellent and the chocolate dessert was divine. 10/10

The food at El Che was undeniably excellent — flavorful, expertly cooked, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried reflected the care and quality the kitchen puts into its menu. It's a great spot for anyone who appreciates bold, fire-driven flavors. That said, the overall experience left a bit to be desired. Some of the dining areas felt extremely tight, and at times, staff members were speaking over our table or standing in the way, which made the space feel more cramped and less comfortable. We had noted in our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and had hoped for a special dessert with a candle or sparkler. Unfortunately, that request was missed, and I had to ask for it during the meal, which took away from the surprise and celebration. The restaurant was also quite warm, with limited airflow — something to keep in mind if you're dining on a hot day. El Che has a lot going for it, especially in terms of cuisine, but some improvements in service awareness and guest comfort would really elevate the experience.

Was able to book the latest reservation for El Che at 9:45pm. I was nervous since they close at 10pm, didn't want to be rushed if the kitchen closed. But to our surprise the staff was very friendly and welcoming and we never felt rushed. Our waiter was very patient and explained the menu to us and gave us his recommendations. We ordered the steak frites and the branzino. The branzino was the so fresh and had great flavors. The steak frites was very good and came with a chimichurri sauce and our waiter suggested another in house sauce that they make that was inspired from Argentina. It was really good. This is my 3rd time visiting Chicago and El Che will be at the top of my list to dine when I return.
