Food is always decent but why can’t the cooks just follow simple directions? Based on allergies they can probably kill somebody . Asked for a specific ingredient to not be in my food and they put extra of that ingredient … reading is fundamental .
Not the first nor the second time . READ THE RECEIPT .

Amazing food, one of my favorite spots for sure! The steak cubanito with strawberry shake is my go to. Only downside is that dining area closes at 5pm, after that only side window is open.
Very good food good people areas good

I went to Chicago for my niece’s graduation, and then my sister, brother in law and I went to one of his favorite spots.
We drove to El Cubanito in Logan Square.
This spot is a neighborhood staple, & had been there for years.
Not gonna lie, I was super excited to try out some good (dare I say GREAT) Cuban food. Y’all, this place did NOT disappoint!!I ordered the Steak Cubanito ($8.35). I can’t tell you the spices that made up this sammy, but I can tell you I had to cross my legs once I bit into it! Portion size was excellent and filling. The steak was tender, hot and delicious. My only regret is that I can’t get another! I ordered the can of soda ($2) because it was unfamiliar to me.
Sodas aren’t typically my thing, and this one was no exception as it had an aftertaste that reminded me of some kind of artificial sweetener.
The plantains were excellent!
I rated service a “4” because you order at the register and they call you to come pick it up. I rated Atmosphere a “4” because it’s a true local spot, not upity and not scary.

This place is consistently the best and a staple to the Logan square community even though every surrounding neighborhood knows to come up Pulaski for the best food at El cubanito. They have come a long way From the days when you could walk into their small, to-go establishment and catch the guy selling bootleg dvds where you could get a little spot to eat your Cubano rq. now you can bring the whole family on an evening. The best move they could have made was continuing to sell the same great food regardless of the new location. I do miss seeing the owners in there but I understand. Chicagos best at El cubanito.

Incredible food. I’m here to say the food tastes so much better than it looks in other reviews. I tried the steak empanadas, steak and egg sandwich, fries and cafe con leche. The coffee was the best I’ve ever had, though I’m not a coffee buff. The fries serving size is massive. Service is minimal but works efficiently. Walk in, order and pay, then grab a seat and your food will be delivered, after clean your table and stack trays at station.

Every time I’m in Chicago, my first stop is El Cubanito - always for the Steak Sandwich with extra garlic mayo, a side of hot sauce, and a café con leche. The Steak Sandwich is pure perfection: crispy shoestring fries, perfectly seasoned steak, and rich, savory garlic mayo, all layered on crunchy Cuban bread.
The café con leche is one of my all-time favorite coffee drinks - deeply comforting and consistently perfect.
The staff is incredibly friendly, and the prices are affordable. Just be sure to bring cash for tips, as they’re one of the rare places that don’t accept tips by card. With plenty of seating inside, it’s the perfect spot to relax and savor every bite.
