This place is outstanding! I think this place has been around in Rogers Park for decades I had the taco plate. I thought it was wonderful. Everybody loves to go in here. I have a lot of acquaintances that call this place an institution. You know just great food and hear the burritos tacos whatever you want really good stuff.

El famous never ceases for disappoint, from the food to the service. We go as a group every Tuesday since they have $2 Tacos and they are just wonderful. The quality of the meat is top notch and well seasoned and don’t forget there’s always room for the wonderful variety of flavorful churro options that will make your mouth melt with delicious filling.

Garbage food. Not worth the money. Shame because so many people recommend them. Chicken nacho platter tastes like cardboard. Tacos have no flavor. Rice was made days ago.

Two ways I critique a Mexican joint: the salsas and the horchata (and rice and beans)
I ordered two tacos - asada and al pastor. The green sauce went excellent with the carne asada.
Best asada I’ve had in a long time (coming from a Mexican). The red sauce that came with the chips went perfect with the al pastor.
I will come back for the asada and horchata. (And the lengua taco tour I will begin next month.)

If i could give less stars i would i ordered on uber eats on sunday immidiatley after placing the order i realzied they have a 1.99 taco sunday deal so i tried to cancel they told me i would have to cancel with uber eats which when i did they told me id have a cancelation fee so i figured ok ill take it to the chin and just oay extra for the tacos its fine ill let the order stay and get delivered 3 hours later no food and when i contact uber they contact el famous and they say they delivered the food 3 hours later than the latest arrival time i received no food so not only did they lie they took money which uber has given me back and is investigating ive provided them with ring camera footage as well to show no delivery in the time frame such a scammy and janky place

We’ve been coming here every Wednesday with a large group, and while the food is fine, the service can be frustrating. This week, they refused to split our check, which caused a lot of inconvenience for our group. We enjoy the food, but we really hope they improve their flexibility and customer service moving forward.
