This place sadly doesn't exist in this market!
Loved their mushroom tacos. Definitely had a kick but highly recommend.
Probably the best Mexican vegan taco I ever hadddd coming from a Mexican gal? and agua de jamaica was on point✨
Would come again & planning to bring my mom to try it!

DELICIOUS! An all-vegan taco counter serving mushroom-featured Mexican food. Everything is freshly prepared, ingredients are all fresh (veggies crunchy and bursting with flavor), and the food came out quickly. I had the three mushroom-taco flight and cannot honestly pick a favorite from the trio. One of them was stuffed with red Cabbage and smoked mushrooms, one had fried potatoes and grilled poblano peppers, and the other was a mixture of fresh peppers and onions with the mushrooms.
The stand is located in what is essentially a vegan food hall and I wish it was both closer and I was hungrier so I could’ve tried more items. And there’s also a vegan bodega in the food court so this is a must-go destination for all vegans!
Vegetarian options: Entire menu is vegan, nut free, and delicious!

Taco plate was overpriced and not good. I love mushrooms but there was limited variety in texture. The tortillas seemed store bought and the over-abundance of mushrooms made us gassy. X market has potential to have a cool vibe but misses the mark and feels amateur.

It’s so nice to have a vegetarian taco place nearby! We really enjoyed the variety of items, fresh ingredients, spicy salsa and friendly service. Next time, I will come for the pozole ☺️

The best taco place my husband and I have tried in Chicago (vegan/ non vegan). Everything is delicious. They use the freshest Ingredients. It's high quality and not just fried food. The best!

Food was good! I got the taco platter, In order from left to right, it's the magico, Porta, Rojas. I enjoyed the third the most then the middle.
Cost is $6 per taco which is par for the fare. Fuller taco than most comparable places.
Environment is nice, service is typical.

The papa (crispy potato) tacos were amazing! The chips and guac also had exceptionally crispy chips and flavorful guac. Can’t wait to come back here.

I got the taco platter, which is a sampler of the three tacos they serve (all mushroom based). I particularly like the middle and right tacos. Food came out very quick.
Enjoyed the taco flight! It’s a nice place to stop after visiting the beach/park/bird sanctuary etc. Located within a food hall so there are plenty of options, tons of space, and a vegan grocery store too.

If you aren't sure what to get I highly recommend you get the Taco Flight!! All 3 tacos were delicious. I also tried the poblano tamales and they too were so good!!
They really do have the authentic Mexican taste cooked into these vegetarian/mushroom based dishes.

Love love love El Hongo Magico. I'm not always a huge mushroom person but they season everything to perfection and their tacos have such a great variety in flavor and texture.
Really delicious vegan food that travelled well as take-out. Really pleased I was able to try three different tacos as part of a single meal, and all were very good.
