We've been to this place a few times and have always ordered something different. Most of the dishes are great but the burritos could use a bit more filling of salsa and other items. It's heavily filled with meat. Staff are wonderful. A little awkward to have a camera person, this shouldn't be that type of place. Not even Bubba Gumps has a camera person in the restaurant.

Food is fine, but it seems like they’re in the business of taking advantage of their customers, hoping they won’t notice up charges. I ordered a chimichanga with chorizo and salsa verde. Attached is what I ordered off the menu and also attached is the bill for said item. No where on the menu does it indicate extra cost for chorizo OR salsa verde. Deceitful business. Couldn’t give a straight answer when questioned, already charged 2.99 for a side of salsa verde.

El Mariachi is the best of the best mexican restaurant in the city. The menu has a variety of traditional mexican mixes with fusion. Real innovative with the cocktails ? ?, the presentation and garnish are so cutie.
I was impressed by the decoration of the bar, the lounge that opens with a revolving door, expanding the space, the huge patio behind the restaurant, two party rooms, it is very difficult to find a space of this level in the city of Chicago. They have an infrastructure that can accommodate small groups up to large parties for companies.
I went with a friend, that was my first time, I was really impressed with the decor of mexican painting, the Virgin of Guadalupe, all the art on the walls.
Our server Armando was so friendly and very knowledgeable, so as the staff. I really recommend this place if you are on a date to be impressed or a group of friends to have a good time with excellent food and drinks. The price is very affordable, believe me, you won't regret it. I will return for sure.

Food was yummy! Service took a bit at first but then we got checked on regularly & they were rly good about filling up our waters too. I got the Zapata Skillet & my friend got the Plaintain French Toast. I rly liked my meal! I don’t live around here so I’ll prbly never go back unless I’m in the area. We had some Jell-O shots in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month starting today!

Best Mexican in boystown. Their margaritas are fantastic (check the daily happy hour as well), and the steak options are a must try. There's also a full vegetarian section, on the smaller side but with great options including vegetarian beans (black beans) which is a nice touch

Never been here but who wouldn't love tacos

It should be no stars at all.
Came off a 12 hour shift from the hospital and wanted to treat my daughter visiting from the Philippines to some good Mexican food, I saw that Mariachi is close from my work so we went there. After we were seated by the host we were a given a basket of complimentary chips while we were looking through the menu and in the 20 minutes we were there, no waiter approached us take any of our orders. One waiter/server were passing by us and chatting with diners beside, back and adjacent to us and none of them stopped to get our orders.

We don't know if it was a race thing (we were the only Asians in that section of the restaurant front facing the street ) or if our waiter was just too busy to make time to cater to us. I saw our host and told her we are leaving offered $20 for the complimentary chips, told her the reason and her excuse was " Oh maybe your waiter is at the patio" Hmm... It's the host responsibility to inform the waiter or most of the time there is a waiter assigned for the patio and for the front.
I was severely disappointed for everything. Lord have mercy why did i even bother bringing my daughter at this restaurant for her to experience that kind of thing.

I loved the place, food was amazing. I really feel “El Sazon”. Very friendly staff. I don’t know if is a norm in Chicago but the tip was included on the ticket and we were only 5 which I find that a little odd. Is a very small place but definitely is a hole on the wall. Would come back!

Stopped on my way home from work for a quick dinner at the bar. It was all very good. Fresh tortillas and spicy chicken. Cannot recommend enough for a quick dinner and drinks

Everything was superb as always. Everyone in our group of four raved about their meals. Drinks, apps, entrees, service, all top-notch. Love this place as do our friends from Canada. They never miss a trip to El Mariachi when they are in town.
