I tried calling the place for food delivery and it didn’t even talk me to voicemail as soon as I called they hung up.

The green mole was ???!!! Super unique, smooth, rich flavor, and some of the freshest most delicious tortillas ever. The tortilla chips with the guacamole were hot and fresh, and the enchiladas en mole (dark red and smoky) were also spectacular.Tacos Dorados were awesome too … bc why not! It’s also super affordable….

Not fancy decor. I had 2 things that were both delicious. The Tamale and the Picadita. The picadita is a bit like a small pizza. It has the thick masa tortilla with the edges rolled up a little, to hold some sauce, with some cheese on top. I had the green sauce which was tasty and not hot.

Outstanding food. The tortillas they use in their enchiladas are homemade and delicious. Their mole is spot on too.

They messed up my order not once, but twice, and the second time was much worse. First time, they got my taco order completely wrong and the second time they didn’t put ANY meat on my pambazo even though I clearly said I wanted asada. Only reason I’m posting this is because I ordered takeout, so it was too late to go back and when I tried calling, their number was disconnected! Really frustrating and the fact that they completely left meat out of a sandwich that needs meat makes me think that they did it on purpose. I really wonder why.

Delicious, authentic - the sabor de Puebla. I was with 2 women friends and we were seated in a back corner when the restaurant was virtually empty.

This place is awesome! My first time her and let me tell you. The tables are comfortable for two and chairs are movable for us heavy set guys. I ordered the Jamaica water xtra large and they brought it in this cool jaron called el buchon. And the tacos were amazing! Home made tortillas and the taste was delicious!
First off, try to be patient. Your food will come, and the good news is it will be delicious! They make their own tortillas here, and they are amazing! The service wasn't great, but our server seemed a little overwhelmed or something. It wasn't really busy, so I'm not exactly sure why we had to ask for our chips & salsa three times before they arrived at the table. However, they were fresh & hot & perfect. So when you go, just be patient. Your food will arrive and it will be a wonderful thing.

Their phone number never works. On their page says they open at 9AM but it's never open at 9AM. Also their panbazos keep getting smaller and smaller.

I was there waiting for more than 30 minutes and I saw the person inside talking on the phone did not open the Business at the time they have posted on their door. This is the third time I’ve gone and this is bad customer service.
Great food! The mole is incredible. I don’t live in Chicago but I can’t wait to come back to El Sabor Poblano.
What a giant disappointment! I ordered the mole rojo and although the mole is delicious, it was served over a small sad, drumstick, rice and "tamales de ceniza" I didn't know what they were. I thought they were regular tamales, but they're not. They can only be described as weird pieces of masa. There is NO filling. And they were old and stale. They were hard and disgusting. It was inedible. I also ordered a weird triangle thing with cheese and it was also cold and hard. I tried calling the restaurant, to get a refund, but the phone is disconnected. I have never been hungry, after eating Mexican food, in my life and this is a first. I definitely DON'T recommend this place. There are far better Mexican food places, in the neighborhood, and for a better price. Never again.
Tacos were great partly due to the nice handmade corn tortillas. This place stands out among the many taquerias on Clark.
