Super convenient location by the blue line. Friendly and fast service.
Fantastic coffee - especially the barrel aged nitro
Cool Cafe that serves good Lattes
Love it
Incredible coffee shop with the coolest vibes and amazing lattes.
Espresso was delicious!
Tom is a joy behind the bar! I keep running into Ben from other DMC locations, they’re also a joy!
Check out these lovely coffee humans!
A staple for Chicago area. Especially if here on business or vacation! The coffee is very eclectic and gives you a good taste of Chicago! You know a coffee place is stellar when they rock a good cold brew. The Wake and bake drink was also a perfect balance of coffee and patina. We purchased some Vanilla Suburbs in cans for a home stash. Again, excellent even in cans!
Really nice chill ship with great coffee and breakfast to have on my way in to work or just a morning walk. Bummed that the empanadas are gone but hoping that's the next in-house sourced breakfast item after the tacos switched over. The in house tacos are good, just wish there still were empanadas available.
By far my favorite local coffee shop. Not pretentious, amazing staff that know your name, your order, and take care of neighborhood regulars. Best part is that they’re open at 6 am unlike other spots nearby. Molly and the team at Electric Mud are simply the best!!
We had your coffee Unicorn Blood at a new coffee shop in Kenosha Wisconsin (Kenosha Coffee Roasters) and it was absolutely amazing! I’m an original Chicagoan and was glad to see such a great coffee company back home when I looked you up. We will visit one of your shops when we are back home. Meanwhile, I’ll pick up bags locally! Bravo and good luck to you all!

For many years, I have only known of Dark Matter coffee as an ingredient in many local bourbon barrel-aged coffee stouts. This is my first time trying their coffee without it being in a beer.
Honestly, I could not tell the difference in any blind taste test, but their cappuccino was delicious and satisfying.
But their barrel-aged mocha was amazing. I presume they aged their espresso beans in former bourbon barrels. The ba-mocha had hints of bourbon and a nice boozy aftertaste. BRAVO!!
Additionally, the decor and ambiance is very pleasing to the eye. A very ecclectic and quaint coffe shop. A must try!!!
The place felt a bit humid and stuffy when I first walked in, which was unexpected. I didn’t realize at first that this was another Dark Matter Coffee location because of the different name. That said, the coffee was great, the space was neat, and the bathroom was clean. There weren’t a ton of tables, but the turnover was quick enough to find a spot. Plus, free street parking is always a nice perk!
The coffee here is amazing. One of my favorite spots in the city.
Had the agave latte. So delicious and an excellent vibe in here. Not too much seating but it felt nice, not crowded.
As all the reviews say—perfect iced coffee and friendly staff with an awesome vibe!
