We had chips and dips, ale soup, broccoli cheese soup and fish and chips. All of the food was excellent. We sat outside and enjoyed the train above us. There were homeless begging for money while at our table which we did not like. Overall great food and the price was good too.
Authentic British food, very reasonably priced, friendly and efficient service. We all enjoyed it very much and would definitely go back again.
Our server, the atmosphere, and the dining experience were great. We felt we could have a leisurely dinner and not be rushed to leave. The pretzel bites were outstanding. We each had a pot pie. The leeks and potato pie was outstanding, the shepherds pie was okay, and the steak and mushroom pie was below average.
Service and food was very good. Only problem AC was on the fritz. It was a bit muggy and very warm.
The meat pies were all delicious! We loved sitting outside even with the L going by every few minutes.
Waiter was outstanding in the midst of very busy time. Sitting outside at Wabash location a bit challenging since it's right by L Track but it was a beautiful day
We must have been on a day the A/C broke. We were so hot at lunch time. It was definitely cooler outside than in.
It was just OK—typical bar food. Our waiter was good. On the way out, a person stood behind the hostess counter, didn't make eye contact, and didn't say thank you for coming. Nothing. I won't be going back.
We had a reservation and got sat right away. Server was on top of it at the beginning but slowly faded as dinner went on. Food was delicious and everyone had their fill. Just a slip in the service but overall a good experience
Good food. i must preface by admitting that I don't have the experience to compare to real English pup food. Really liked the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The fish and chips my wife had was very good. I had the pie sampler. In my opinion the Shepherds pie was too dry and needed more seasoning. The other pies were very good but the crust was much too thin, even stretched to breaking on the steak and mushroom pie. There seemed to be a lot of regulars there, a good sign, and it was very loud.

Had a great time here and had some absolutely fantastic food - the cheese toastie was overloaded with cheese to a painful extent but everyone else said their food was to die for. The poutine was a particular hit. Our waiter was quick to help out and answered our questions with expertise, and refilled our drinks before we even noticed they were running low. Thanks for a great time!
The Elephant is a great choice for quick but delicious and affordable dining downtown. I had the butter chicken which was as flavorful as any I've had at an Indian restaurant . My friend had a wonderful salmon dish. Both our entrees were around $20. Great drinks list, decent wine choices. We were headed to 7:00 show and were able to get in and out in plenty of time. Only caveat: not the place for intense conversation, but great if you enjoy a jubilant party atmosphere!
We had a great lunch - the menu is amazing, the food was all delicious & the service was fantastic!!
I used to come here for the pie. It was in a bowl with the lid a piece of pie crust drapped over the top. No longer. The pie is in a frying pan with mashed potatoes on top. Still delicious but not the same
A classic English pub. In a perfect spot and maybe you don't NEED a reservation but it was nice to have one. I highly recommend the Pie flight. It was perfection!
