Greeks here, so maybe we're a little harder to please than others, but to us this place is average. The menu, with some Greek favorites, still leans heavily towards items better categorized as "Chicago-style fast food" such as hot dogs, hamburgers, Polish, Italian beef, and even tacos. But, no egg rolls. Still missing "Gyros on the Spit"s homemade gyros, we ordered the gyros platter, and got a good helping of standard Kronos meat, tomatoes, onions, and a rice and potato melange. Filling but not necessarily exciting. Ellas is a good place to go if you have a group that wants a wide selection, but if you don't mind traveling, and want more 'Greek specialties' try Cross Rhodes, near Main & Chicago in Evanston.

I ate there tonight with a friend. Tables were dirty, crumbs from the last meal on every table. Food was passable, however, just before we left my friend asked if she could use the bathroom. The counter staff goes through a laurel and hardy routine, "Let me check if the bathroom is working. Is the bathroom working? Oh, we're so sorry, the bathroom isn't working." We're paying customers, and there is no sign anywhere that says "no public restroom." A restaurant with 4 staff behind the counter doesn't have a working bathroom? Don't worry guys, with customer service like yours, you won't be open much longer.

the fries are to die for! lots of food options to chose from. friendly workers! semi inexpensive but overall a great place to get food. not to the mention the little pac-man machine inside. (dog friendly, which i love!)

Great Greek food with huge menu and classic "Chicago" atmosphere. You have to go there to see what I am talking about. The menu is one of the biggest around.

I'm terrified by their service and quality of food. I had ordered Cesar salad and beef through GrubHub and I got it delivered absolutely inedible. All the ingredients are not fresh and it looks like veggies were chopped a day before my order and the chicken had been cooked at least in the morning and then just thrown in the microwave to warm it up a little.. Do you know how weathered veggies look like? They are not fresh and juicy, but old and dry with curved edges. I'm not saying anything about their way of chopping ingredients because some people may like huge cuts.. as for me it's unacceptable. The other dish with beef is a total failure as well due to an over salted meat. Again, it seems like they tried to hide that the meat was not fresh. It's a common trick, if you have an old meat just put a lot of salt on it.

Closed during business hours really? I placed my order on Beyond Menu to be picked up at 4:15pm and when I arrived it was closed. I mean really? You're just losing business there or are they closed permanently again? What's the deal? Food is good, but being closed is a no no.
Wow the owner called me when they didn't have what I wanted he through in his Gouda cheese bites for free and they were absolutely fantastic. Awesome customer service. He made a customer tonight!

Gyros plate was ok. Fries were not so great. They seem a little behind in orders. They charged a bag fee! WTF. If you read the law, RESTAURANTS are not supposed to charge bag fees. Please check on that.

I was very happy to discover (thanks Tom P.) that Hella Gyro was reborn as Ella's Gyro. I rushed over there right after work and ordered the gyro plate. Also, I was happy that I could use Apple Pay for payment. I placed my order with a gentleman that assured me that this place is from the Hella linage. I received my food and sped home. Once home I opened up the container and dove in face first. The gyro meat was plentiful and the I love the tzatziki. I love the new seasoned fries. The container steamed my fries, but they were tasty nonetheless. Also, I love the sports peppers. I had so much food, I couldn't eat it all. Thanks for reopening!!

Food was terrible, I got the chicken pita and the lemon overpowered the whole sandwich. Also the bill was 42 dollars for over cooked fries, a disgusting pita and undercooked mozzarella sticks. Never again
