Unfortunately she has closed. Never had her sandwiches, but her bakery items were awesome. Truly a loss for the community.

All the way from NYC, visiting with Girlfriends. The ambiance is Cafe Dope, with a laid back chill Vibe. The service is great, the staff is friendly and welcoming. The food selection is great too and it's easy to pick out and alter to your liking. If you're looking for something that gets your taste buds going, check for this awesome cafe.

Our Thanksgiving was spoiled by a $50 Sour Cream pound cake my daughter picked up fromEmeche on Wednesday. She irdered it a week ago. It was extremely dense, dry, and had way too many ingredients. No one could eat it because it was difficult to swallow. We would have done much better with a Marianos or Jewel's poind cake., and would have paid much less. My daughter decided to trash it but I convinced her to bring whats left back to the bakery and speak to the owner. We were both under the weather all week, and still are, so it will be an effort coming back. I told her I would come with her, today, two days after Thsnkdgivong. I am a cardiac patient and have to take it easy. We will see how the owner handles this, and if the results are unsatisfactory, or if the owner is condescending to us. If so, we will never ever buy from Emeche again. There are so many other places we could gave gone to complete our Thanksgiving dinner. This was a disgrace, as a "black" business" and because Emeche is in a predominantly black community, it is worse.Parking: One or two spots were avaliable

We were on the hunt for a bakery that could make a vegan hummingbird cake for an event and Emeche made our cake dreams come true! Possibly one of the best cakes I've ever had; everyone at the event asked us where it was from! Flawless experience from beginning to end.

First off i'm giving this place 3 stars because of the customer service and the owners wonderful attitude and that's it. I've always wanted to try this bakery because their Instagram page looks delicious! I get there about 8:30 am Saturday it was pretty crowded, i'm guessing it's an event taking place, great sign! I get inside and their pastry case is nearly empty none of the dessert i'd seen on their page, so I settled on a piece of sour cream pound cake. Ok this cake was not a good impression at all! I don't know how to describe that the cake is moist to touch but when you put it in your mouth it's like a wet paste, very off putting!! I have to try this place one more because everyone has an off day! An honorable mention is the ambiance of the location it has great vibes and it's beautifully decorated!

What an incredibly friendly and kind staff!! And delicious food!! I had the lox bagel sandwich and a sticky bun. Highly recommend both! Cozy atmosphere with the sweetest decor.

I have adult ADHD so I left my wallet went back and the cashier said you back for your wallet and just like that I'm hooked. Wouldn't recommend losing ur wallet but recommend this business. It's very warm and inviting and I love the flower bed outside.

Absolutely the best croissants I have had in my life!We ordered a bunch of bakery treats to cater our event down at 31st Harbor and they were all amazing! The owner hand delivered them and was great to work with! Thank you!

This is now going to be a regular stop when we come into Chitown. Had the lemon poundcake: sublime! Not too heavy, not too sweet, but perfect blend of tart and sweet that melts in your mouth. And also enjoyed one of the strawberry shortcake jars, which couldn't be better either. Looking forward to trying as many things as I can! Something to live for !

Congratulations Janell for the opening of your store front!!! I remember purchasing your strawberry shortcake jars from the Taste of Islam at Mosque Maryam and then meeting you at Dollar Tree to pick up additional orders. I am glad to still have access to delicious pastries from your beautiful bakery. Also, thank you for still placing the pastry in glass jars. I love reusing them for portioned drinks! #saving the environment! Congrats again!!

I'd avoid the sandwiches. They were mediocre at best & very reminiscent of something my non cooking ass could've made at home. There were a couple of appealing sounding jelly choices such as strawberry/jalapeño & apple/butter but as delicious as they sounded both were lackluster. The desserts are pretty good. There's a multitude of choices & while good nothing was earth shattering. If I'm the area I'd return but I wouldn't make a trip here. I think the place has potential but I'd like to see them try harder.
