Our group of ten had a marvelous time! The food is consistently delicious. One of our party hadn't visited EC for a long time (shame on him!) and he said that his meal was just as great as the one he enjoyed "last time". The service is always terrific - pleasant, efficient and professional = they take great care of us every time we visit. The food is very high quality and a very good value. Don't wait - book a table and bring family and friends!

Jose was an excellent waiter, and the whole staff killed it for us on a busy Saturday night. Our steaks were very good, but my veal parmesan didn't have a lot of taste. My wife's spaghetti with fresh tomatoes and olive oil was excellent.

Our server was not having a good day. He was not nice - even after my husband shared that I'm pregnant.

3 dinners 3 Happy customers Omg 2 fisted martinis, Liver onions bacon, wow 2 extra large tender slabs of liver prepared perfect next to 2 extra thick slabs of bacon smothered in grilled onions Super service Only problem was giant meatballs stuffed with too much cornmeal filler, but pasta and gravy was excellent. Clean rest rooms and kitchen Always a great restaurant

Great overall experience, but it was significantly disrupted by an extremely loud table nearby. They were making inappropriate, derogatory comments and slamming on the table, which created a very unpleasant environment. Management should have intervened, as allowing that behavior is not acceptable for an establishment like Erie Cafe

Always great service. Delicious wine, chicken Marsala. Best grilled calamari. Great atmosphere.

The staff is amazing and very professional. The steak is the best in the city. Gets a little loud but always a great experience

Had lunch so focused on lighter fare. The grilled calamari was fantastic: it was an unusual preparation where the nicely charred squid rings and tentacles were sautéed in a delicious “secret” sauce that was wonderful to dip bread. Generous house salad with a sweet dressing that had a nice tang. The dressing was used too generously - overwhelmed the salad. The chicken fricasse preparation was unexpectedly “lemony”. We had expected a creamy mushroom sauce or equivalent - but the lightly breaded flattened chicken breast was sautéed in a somewhat creamy lemon dominant sauce. If one added capers it would have been a chicken piccata. I confirmed with our waiter that the dish was indeed the “Chicken Fricasse”. The disappointment of this lunch was the linguini with white sauce. The amount of chopped clams was generous and there were about 5-6 intact clams in their shell. The flavor of the sauce was good - one can taste the ocean but the fettuccini was a disaster: cooked beyond al dente to something too soft and the noodles were all short as if it had been broken in half. We have had their burger and salad at their outdoor garden-like dining area on the River during warmer months. So we know the Erie Cafe can deliver. Our lesson for our next visit: stay away from the pasta.

The restaurant is a great place to catch up with friends, good drinks, food and service! Easy valet parking is always a plus for me!

By far the worst service I’ve ever had in the city, not to mention how loud it is and how rude the servers and host were.we didn’t even get to eat because it took an hour to get a drink and we had to ask three times for food menus.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 Experience! We had an absolutely outstanding experience at Erie Cafe! From the moment we called to make our reservation, the manager went above and beyond — we had to call three times to adjust our reservation time because we were attending a show beforehand, and each time, they were incredibly kind, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming. I can't commend the manager enough for their warmth and for making my husband's birthday celebration so special! We moved away from downtown and hadn't been to Eries in about 10 years, so we were a little nervous returning — especially since my husband was hoping to order his favorite dish, the Veal Chop. To our delight, it was just as amazing as we remembered — perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! Our server, Jose, was an absolute joy — professional, personable, and spot-on with his recommendations. The entire staff made us feel right at home. Erie Cafe is truly a hidden gem and remains one of the best Italian steakhouses in Chicago. We can't wait to return — highly, highly recommend!

This restaurant was recommended by a local. It was perfect! Conveniently located with nice ambiance. Along with the delicious food & tasty drinks, the best was our server, Martin, and his staff. Perfect “aim to please”service! Thank you to Erie Cafe & staff for a wonderful experience!

Lovely, cozy, classic kind of place! We went with friends who are regulars and tried so much on the menu. Everything was incredible! The service was top notch and so attentive. Next time we’re in town I hope we go back!
