I used to really like this cap, but recently it's not as good. I don't know if they changed beans or they are just inconsistent but they are way too dark roasted for me. I'm sure it's fine for a latte which seems to be most of their business anyway. Only one guy steams the milk right. Just not worth it for the $5 cap anymore unfortunately

I visited E&M for the first time and, for the first time, I tried something called a freddo espresso. I was asked if I wanted it sweetened & I said yes.
Well I think I've got ptsd now because I took one medium-sized sip and legit almost spat it out because of how bitter it was.
Not sure if 1) the barista forgot the sweetened part, 2) I'm weak or 3) the Greeks have a different definition of sweet over there. I ended up in my office kitchen doctoring it up to make it drinkable.
However - I would go back because I don't know how a freddo espresso truly tastes, the coffee shop was cute and the drinks sounded interesting. I'm just staying far away from freddo lol

Very busy and popular spot with unique menu. There is still a line close to closing time but got my order in about 10 mins. Staff was friendly and helpful. Got the pink guava mocha, the chocolate sauce is rich and thick. It was a nice tasty chocolate treat with a hint of fruitiness.

Stark white and very clean interior, the coffee options are nice and very high quality. Some really nice pastries as well.
They really need to add some stools and a deeper counter. There's not really much of an option if you wish to eat in.

The wait times in the morning are ridiculous. I waited 15 minutes after i had ordered for a coffee before i gave up. There needs to be a better way to manage the flow of orders

The #1 thing (other than the amazing coffees) is the staff. I’ve developed a great friendship with some of them, and they’re all kind. The owner is humble and takes the time to shake your hand and ask how you’re doing.
They have great recommendations, and don’t rush you. The coffee is extremely high quality and high-care. Time goes into it, and you see the love they give every cup. They truly care.
My order got mixed up with another person of the same name, really basic mistake that shouldn't ever happen. It still tasted good but whatever

If you're in downtown Chicago and need a seriously good cup of coffee, there really is no better spot. Don't be fooled by the unique and delicious specialty espresso drinks you'll find on the menu either, for those of us hard working Americans who just want a strong cup of joe, you won't be disappointed. Service is prompt and effective, especially considering the volumes of Chicagoans pouring through the doors each day. If this isn't your daily spot for your caffeine kick, then do yourself a favor and give it a try!
