Really cool restaurant/bar with lots of history.
We had the Chicago deep dish pizza with sausage and Italian beef and Reuben sandwich with corned beef and waffle fries. They were both tasty but the pizza was amazing, so cheesy and just awesome.
We had amber ale, espresso martinis and pomegranate martinis. All were great.
Highly recommended, make sure to call in.

I came here for dinner 2 nights in a row. I lived in Chicago from 1961 to 2006 and I never heard of this place and I don’t know why. I discovered this place by accident and I said I have to try it. Wonderful ambience and friendly staff. I sat at the bar the first night and was served by Nina. I ordered the thin crust personal pizza with sausage, pepperoni and onion and was I blown away. Crust was perfect, plenty of cheese and toppings and it tasted delicious. The 2nd night i sat at the bar as well but I can’t remember the female bartender’s name but she was fantastic and attentive. I read online that their Italian beef and sausage sandwich were excellent so I tried it. It was good, not great. It was over salty to my taste… and I like salt. That’s the only reason I ranked the food a 4 was because of my day 2 sandwich experience. Get the pizza and it will be a 5 star!!!

Local gem with solid, dependable, well-priced food. The Prohibition Burger is a total standout—love that you can choose a single or double patty and pick your own side. The classic pub grub vibe is a welcome treat in the city!

I ordered a small Cobb salad and informed them I would arrive in 30 minutes. Upon my arrival I learned my order was never entered into the system. I usually never complain unless it's absolutely necessary, and seeing I have NO lunch at work this was CLEARLY THE PERFECT TIME TO COMPLAIN. THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME HANGRY🫡

This is a great local dinner spot, a place to unwind and relax with an old vibe and charm. Service and food were very good. Their Cesar salad and their French fries are delicious! Would recommend this pub for anyone in Chicago for dinner and drinks, with family, friends or date night!

I love this unpretentious, cozy place for pizza. The deep dish isn't quite deep and the thin crust isn't quite thin but it's just good. The vintage posters and gangster memorabilia are campy Chicago. Fun and affordable hangout.

A Chicago staple with a comfort food menu of all the city's staples. Warm, welcoming atmosphere. I went with the rigatoni with Italian sausage and vodka sauce, while my lunch companion opted for French onion soup and chilli. Perfect meal before a Chicago Symphony matinee. The personal deep dish pizza option is always a hit. Lots of nearby parking garages.

Got dinner here at our last day in Chicago. Food and atmosphere were great. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was the wait time from ordering to when the dishes were served. Additionally, even though our server was nice, she didn’t attend to our table quite often.

So this is the second time I’ve been to the exchequer both times The food was just OK. This time the service was terrible from the moment she came up to our table to the moment. I walked up to the host stand and said we’d like to leave and it looks like our server completely forgot about us. I don’t think I will ever come back here, which is a shame. The pizza said crispy crust. It tasted like it was a frozen pizza dough that was premade and they just slapped on the toppings. The Caesar salad was so oily. There was no creaminess to the dressing. The croutons were lifeless and no flavor. The eggs on the loaded Caesar salad were green around the edges which indicates old eggs. The hosts at the front were very nice and came running when I said it looks like we’ve been forgotten so they were very nice. The look of the place is nice as well. I just will not come back to bad experiences are enough for me. We went next-door to industry ale for an after drink and some dessert and that place was divine so they’re right next to each other. I highly recommend going to industry ale.

Great food and atmosphere. If you wish to have dessert, you may have to trip your waiter to order it.
I had chicken parm and my husband had ribs. The server was nice but a little pushy about controlling the pace of our meal. The food was mediocre at best. We were here visiting and had heard good things about it. Maybe just an off night but we won't be going back.
Very interesting place, great vibes and great food. A lot of history
