This is the place to stop when you are craving a traditional Polish Sausage! The grilled onions are amazing and come with fries. Ironically Jim's Original is more well known for its sausage but the locals prefer Express Grill. What's really awesome is that Express grill is only 50 feet south of jim's so you can/should try both that's what l did. I always get the polish sausage, deep fried with mustard and onions grilled. The service is fast so be ready to order when it's your turn. I just found out they're no longer open 24 hours, now closing around 1-2am. It's usually crowded at any time. Outdoor waiting in any weather.
Hit up Express Grill on Union Ave around midnight—always a solid 24/7 go-to. I grabbed the classic Maxwell Street Polish with grilled onions & mustard plus a pork chop sandwich, and threw in an order of fries. Sausage was juicy and onions had that perfect char, fries were crispy, and the crew was quick and chill. Classic late-night spot—never disappoints.
