It’s an upscale Mexican restaurant. A lively ambience with live music in summer. We opted to seat outdoors. They have limited vegetation options. We ordered three items and all of them were 10/10. This place is kids from and the service was great. Amazing restaurant and amazing food. What made tonight special with our family was our server Carlos!! Hands down the best server in Chicago. He did not write one thing down and served everything with perfection. He even surprised our table with a special treat at the end. Definitely go and definitely ask for Carlos!!

The salmon Al carbon and ginger pomegranate margarita were so good! I want to eat that salmon once a week! Skip the Paloma...I could not even finish it. The food and drink are good, but it is very pricey. I was not expecting to spend as much as I did.

First off, service and atmosphere were great. It was not crowded at all for it being 6:45 on a Friday, and I think it is because the restaurant is a little hidden. We almost passed it. The house margaritas were great and so was the guacamole. The chips and salsa is not complimentary, and the salsa came out steaming hot? I've never had hot salsa before and cannot say I enjoyed it.

I can’t begin to thank everyone working at Mesa for saving our event. We had multiple family members visiting from out of town for a weekend and we were expecting about 40 family members to come. They all were going to stay in Downtown Hotels. We decided to setup a large family gathering at Mesa Urbana so I put my wife in charge. The dinner was going to be setup for Saturday evening so on Friday about 4 PM we got a call from Mesa Urbana and I believe the owner was calling ( Moe), he was letting me know that the tables are ready and they swill be expecting our arrival in an hour or so…. Wait a moment I said, we reserved this for Saturday not Friday. At that moment I realized that my wife made a reservation for a wrong date. I started to panic because it is so hard to find a place to host a group of 40 on a a Saturday night in Chicago. First of all I felt extremely embarrassed because my wife made a reservation for a wrong date for 40 people and the restaurant prepared for our arrival. The owner Moe was sooo nice, I was so apologetic and after talking to him for a while we both started to laugh because he himself had a similar situation with his wife. We had a very wonderful conversation and he was able to open up enough space with bringing extra tables for us on Saturday. I can’t thank enough to Moe for making this happen, what a gentleman he was.Comes Saturday we all stated to show up to Mesa, tables were ready , we had 8 servers assigned to us, the ambiance was perfect. We end up meeting Moe and we all laughed a bit . We allowed them to serve us a set menu and OMG the food, I mean everything from the appetizers to the main course dishes, to the desserts and to the drinks were beyond real. The presentation was out of this world. We all enjoyed our time and the food. We thank Mesa Team for the wonderful service they have provided and marking this experience a memorable one. I have been in many places and enjoyed their food and service and I probably won’t remember the names of these places but I for sure will never forget the name of Mesa. Once again thank you so much Moe and the Mesa Team.

Mesa Urbana surpassed my expectations this weekend! Went for dinner with two friends and we were instantly impressed by the service. Ash, the owner, introduced himself to us and gave us a warm welcome. Additionally, whenever a team member brought us an item, they gave their unique perspective on the dish, which made us feel so special! On top of the service, the food and drinks were fantastic, especially Beso de Guava and the tuna tostada.If you’re looking for a great meal at a restaurant with fantastic hospitality and a neighborhood-y feel, this is it!

The scan menu and pay on ur own at the table is awesome - really great idea not to wait to get the check. Would definitely have dinner again.Only thing that's off-putting is that I've seen their host asking folks if will have dinner or drinks with appetizers, i get why it's asked as space out is limited but in most cases you dont know until you sit down and view the menu and decide what to get, its softer to just say that because of reservation have limited space or if sit out can only sit you for 75 min or 90 min etc, otherwise can sit inside, something along those lines.
