I’ve been to small vegan cafes like this around the world and I’ve worked at one—my experience at Fancy Plants was fairly average. I would say if you’re visiting Chicago I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but if you aren’t too far and need breakfast, it’s always ideal to have a 100% vegan spot.

I had the breakfast sandwich (not the croissant sandwich which is different) and it was microwaved so it didn’t taste very fresh and I’m not sure how much of it was just store bought. I guess I was expecting it to be fresh and toasty.
The citrus maple brûlée latte was really good. I’d come back for coffee and pastries but probably not the food.
