Great neighborhood gem. The salmon I ordered with risotto was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. I would order it again since it was so good. Our wait person was great. Can't wait to go back!
I've heard great things about Farm Bar and the food did not disappoint. However, from the moment we sat down, we felt as if the restaurant had us on a schedule that did not include a leisure night in the neighborhood. Upon paying the bill, we were told by our server that the table was needed for the next reservation. However, had we chosen to enjoy a dessert, I suspect we would not have been pushed out in that manner. We just felt rushed in some ways and would have really enjoyed a little more time enjoying the time with friends we had not seen for some time. Also, we understand the incredibly warm (well hot) temperatures outside these days, but the restaurant could use to improve its AC as it was very warm inside.
Farm Bar is a great place for a summer evening meal. We requested outside seating on our reservation for 5pm and were seated immediately. The wait staff was attentive and quick. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Our meal was fish and chips and a chicken sandwich. Both delicious sized portions with French fries. The strawberry shortcake, which was recommended for dessert, did not disappoint. It was a perfect location in a quiet neighborhood for a summer night out.
Went for brunch on Sunday. Shakshuka was wonderful and outdoor space was covered so when it started to rain we had no problem!
Local favorite! Delicious (and rotating) menu, great staff and good bar menu (including great NA options)
Great little spot with a cozy atmosphere and great food. Service was friendly and our food came out paced very well. The Michigan burger was good, but in my opinion not amazing as so many others claim. To me, the beef patty was just too small for this burger and considering it was $20 I would have expected a bit more meat. The flavor was nice, but the beef flavor gets lots with the cherry and goat cheese. Pumpkin hummus was really solid as well and came with interesting things to dip. Again, pretty pricey but well composed appetizer.

We snagged an early reso because of how nice it was outside. The food, cocktails and service are great, they have a range of healthy to upscale bar food 🤩 Plus dogs are allowed on the patio.

Food: We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer and they were delicious. Definitely recommend. Entrees were good too. A little expensive in my opinion, almost $25 for an impossible burger :/ Not a whole lot of vegetarian options either
Drinks: We ordered 2 cocktails each and everything was super yummy. For being in Chicago, I was also impressed that they weren’t $20. I think the were reasonably priced compared to other restaurants nearby.
Parking: Only street parking it seems like so probably best to walk, bike, or take public transport.
Atmosphere: Recommend to ask to sit on the patio. They have twinkly lights and heaters so it’s super cozy.

Both of us loved our sandwiches! Mine was the best burger I’ve ever had especially the cherry sauce. My friend’s beet sandwich she said she’d order anytime

There is a review from 8 years ago (!!) that I agree with, and looks like nothing has changed since, greasy cheese curds and introduce salt to the chef.
Had a good experience at Farm Bar in Lakeview. The food was very good and the drinks were also superb. The ambience is somewhat of a farm house with a long bar top. Definitely get reservations in advance because of the small quantity of dining tables.
Our party tried a few appetizers and found all three to be perfect to share among a group of 5. The shishito peppers had a nice hummus & chili oil sauce. The mussels had a delicious tomato sauce and came with some sourdough bread. Our third appetizer were the cheese curds and we couldn't get enough of them.
We all enjoyed our entrees but was impressed with the Michigan "Harvest" burger. The burger patty was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the jam was such a good sauce in the burger. The Farmer's steak was also very good and had a nice gravy sauce.
For drinks, I recommend the Smoked Sazerac. The whiskey drink had a great smokey flavor but had a nice hint of sweetness.
Overall a great experience. The service wasn't perfect as we had to ask twice for some items but definitely wasn't a deal breaker. Loved that you could pay the bill via the QR code scan and website.

Food was good - but none of the menu items we ordered are listed on the “recommended “ choices. Menu was only available as QR code and does not match what is posted on here - less choices when we were there today for dinner. Even the website menu isn’t matching the QR code menu. 5 of us - we had 2 of the 1/2 chicken entrees (which isn’t a 1/2 chicken but 2 small pieces of tiny bone-in chicken, fried fish, chicken sandwich and a salad with some sliced chicken breast, beer, & cocktails. Server was friendly, food was fresh and well prepared but nothing I would crave or feel I need to go back for. Prices seemed quite high ($250.00+) for what it is - but that’s everywhere. Door was open and the temperature was cool outside so it was chilly and our food didn’t stay warm for long. They also add a 5% COB fee to the bill - apparently to pass along paying for employees higher wages.
