Drove 40min for the pastries and I absolutely enjoyed the banana pastry! Really came for their strawberry cream croissant but they are playing with menu/recipe and replaced it with banana cream croissant. Temporarily? Either way it’s fabulous. Second favorite is the guava one. Heard that’s also a signature. What a creative idea! Loved the combo of guava with cream cheese I believe. The girl at front desk was also so kind. A lady in front waited at least 10minute to have her friend call back to tell her what they wanted so the line started growing rapidly after her. The girl was so kind and didn’t rush her but also checking in with other customers. Just wished people know what they are going to order beforehand so no one needs to wait outside in this weather.

One of Chicago’s best bakeries! This Mexico City-inspired bakery is owned by a young couple, and the workers here are the sweetest. The outside is super unassuming, but as soon as you enter, you can feel the warmth and love from this cute space. Their pastry display is gorgeous, and everything tasted as great as they looked. I arrived right before opening on a Thursday morning and was the first in the door!
Since I was the first customer, they offered me a free coffee, so I had a delicious latte with coconut & cardamom syrup. It was rich and smooth—the perfect pairing for the incredible pastries.
My favorite had to be the guava custard. It tasted so fresh, and the guava flavor was really strong and bright. The custard was smooth and so so fruity.
Another one of their signature items, the raspberry cinnamon roll, met my expectations. It had nice cinnamon notes that paired well with the sweetness of the raspberry layers. The espresso cream cheese provided a great balance between the tanginess of cream cheese and slight coffee aroma.
The banana cream croissant was stunning! It was filled with fluffy whipped cream, banana slices, salted caramel sauce, and biscoff crumble. The croissant itself was perfectly flaky and held well even with the abundance of cream. The overall flavor was really rich, and I enjoyed the biscoff cookies, which added a nice, sugary crunch.
Next up, the calamansi cheesecake danish had wonderful citrus flavor with the creamy decadence of cheesecake filling. The cheesecake crumble crust added a good, buttery crunch as well.
Lastly, I got their hot dog pastry for something savory. It was such a unique creation but worked surprisingly well. The saltiness of the sausage and potato straws complemented the sweet pastry dough. I liked how the mustard added a pop of vibrant tanginess as well. Chicago is famous for hot dogs, so even in pastry form, they are bound to be delicious.
All in all, an outstanding place to get your sweet fix in Bridgeport. The items are a bit pricey, ranging from $7-10, but I would say for the quality, execution, and delightful service, it is worth splurging on. I will absolutely be returning, and I know nothing from Fat Peach will disappoint!

Finally made it when the line wasn’t down the sidewalk, however the inside was full. After 15-20 min wait it was my turn! Bought 1 of each, and brought it home for my brother and my family to try stuff, and it was far from good. I suppose I got the freshest stuff given I got there right at open. We thought many of the pastries were unique and the flavor profiles were on point. Our favorites were the Ube, raspberry…, hot dog was awesome, the mole was interesting, loved the strawberry milk, chocolate, and sweet potatoe! I’d say definitely top 5 bakery in Chicago hands down

They've really figured out their product here - both the sweet and savory options are really incredible. The only downside is getting decision paralysis because everything looks and tastes so good!

Stopped in on a Saturday morning shortly after opening. About a 15-20 min wait in line, but totally worth it. Staff is hustling, but also nice. Grabbed an assortment of pastries and a couple coffees. Every single pastry was a 5 out of 5. Visually and taste wise. It’s a little pricey, but worth the splurge if you’re in the mood for something special.

If you have the chance to stop by before your day starts I definitely recommend coming here. As a line cook and a wanting to be pastry chef, I was blown away by the flavors, especially the hot dog pastry. The warm breakfast pastry was also a favorite! Can we talk about how flaky ever single pastry is!! YUMMMMM!! And if you have more of a sweeter tooth get the guava custard.

Small but amazing selection. The lady at the front was soo nice! We got the pistachio Chocolate Danish and a cardamom coconut cold brew. Both were so good. The prices are a little high but the quality is amazing.

This place was amazing. The pastries are well prepared and presented. The layers on the croissants were fenomenal. We drove a well long distance to arrive at this location, proximally an hour and 10 min and this is well worth the drive and will be coming back soon.

10/10 Worth the hype

I went later in the afternoon and snagged one of the final pastries - there was no line and it was about $11 for the Ferrero Rocher pastry and I enjoyed every bite.

Lilly at the counter was also super kind and helpful!

Went on Valentine’s Day. It was a bit chaotic but organized. Was really excited to go in person to try the chilaquil pastry and it wasn’t on the menu 😢 but nonetheless, the vodka pasta and hotdog croissant was delicious 🤤 for sure on the pricey side but it was worth it! Items can be labeled better or have a menu hanging above so it’s easier to know what options are available and prices before reaching the cashier.

I drove all the way from the North Side to Chinatown to visit this place, and the experience was very disappointing. It was a weekday around 11 a.m. — well within their posted hours (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) — yet they had no pastry items left at all.

If a bakery expects to sell out that early, they should either prepare more or adjust their hours accordingly. Running out of everything so early in the day makes little sense and reflects poor planning or management.

Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating enough that I don’t plan on returning anytime soon.

Loved the chocolate pistachio! 3 pastries for $30 is extremely expensive for Chicago. Guava was underwhelming, I could get a similar pastry from a panaderia for $2. I also wish there were vegetarian savory croissants.

Savory pastries are good, the guava danish is good. Not $9 per pastry good, but good.
