The lady at the front has an attitude and u feel it when u first walk in. The food deserts are not good and they are dried out! However, I am optimistic and maybe next time the food can improve over time and customer service.

This bakery has a great selection of Chinese deserts that you'll find commonly in Chinatown.

Such a small local bakery. The place looks like a bit worn down but don’t let that fool you—this place has an impressive selection of pastries, buns, and even some drinks to choose from.

All the classic bakery items from my childhood. Winter mellon cookies are flaky and sweet. Very reasonable prices.

The pastries were disgusting. BBq pork buns were soggy, egg tarts tastes like it was sitting out for a few days, apple turnover were so doughy with no filling, and the coconut tart were so dry/stale. To top it off, the lady in the front was so rude.

Got the vanilla cream roll for $5, price was very reasonable. However, there is no expiration date info on the package. The filling, which is supposed to be “vanilla cream”, is very salty and weird, the flavor is nothing to do with vanilla nor cream. Disappointed, not recommend.

I've been coming to this bakery for 20 years now. I dream of a high speed rail service from my area to Chicago because of this bakery. I have organized school trips and brought entire groups of students to this bakery (reminding them all that it is cash only). I once ditched attending a minor speaker's speech at a conference just so that I could go to this bakery.

You should also go to this bakery. Don't go in expecting fancy, slick presentations. Go in with your cash and get amazing baked goods for the best prices around. This past trip, I bought a dozen bbq pork buns and brought them back home, 6 hours away, and have zero regrets. Or maybe one regret: that I didn't buy more.

I'm looking forward to my next trip to Chicago because of this bakery.

This bakery has a great selection of Chinese deserts that you'll find commonly in Chinatown. The prices are reasonable and everything we had was great. We tried the sticky rice cakes, the leaf wrapped rice/meat things, and some of the custard pies.

They are cash-only, and the prices are very cheap.

Great food, great service, great price, great quality, honestly it's a really good place. It's my favorite Chinese bakery in Chicago. It has breakfast, brunch, snacks and only takeout and most items don't contain meats or nuts. Also it opens early and closes late.

It was a very great place, it was clean, pretty great decor. It also had a dine in and cold drinks. The food was clean, cheap, good quality, and it was absolutely delicious. There was so many desserts and pastries, not too many choices that it’s overwhelming. GREAT price, $5 and you can buy a lot of tasty things with great quality and taste. Authentic chinese pastries and desserts. I can’t recommend enough for you to go there. They also had great service. BY THE WAY THEY only accept cash. It is also very traditional and nothing too thrilling.

Non descript storefront and equally no frills counter belying a trove of traditional chinese pastry delight freshly baked. Ordered a couple of sweet buns and flaky filled small bites with lotus and red bean paste and was pleasantly surprised with the soft and flavorful buns and crisp, flaky pastry encasing a generous filling with just about right sweetness and fine texture. Surprisingly inexpensive given each pastry is manually prepared.
