Felix: Modern American Dining

Mixed experience. We were initially seated right by the door by a hostess, despite there being empty tables elsewhere, so we had to ask for a move. The atmosphere is fantastic and our waiter was great. The steak and wine were excellent, though the fettuccine was a bit oily. Oddly, we later saw that same hostess chilling with her sneakers up on one of the coffee tables.

We had a fantastic experience at Felix. The service was top-notch from start to finish, but the food was the real star. We started with the calamari and meatballs as appetizers—both were very generous portions. In fact, they were so substantial it made finishing our entrees a challenge, but that's a great "problem" to have! The absolute highlight for me was the beef tallow fries. It's rare to find a place that uses beef tallow for frying, and the difference in flavor and quality is excellent. We ended up taking some leftovers home and truly appreciated the quality of the ingredients used.

Overall a good experience. Like most places these days prices are a bit high. A great neighborhood gem.

Checked out this place once it replaced Hutch- same layout, different decor. Food: Whenever I find a place that has a beet salad, I immediately order it but unfortunately, this was not the case and our server didn't correct me when I said I wanted the beet salad. It's just sliced up beets, cheese, and honey. We also ordered the calamari which was okay. For a modern American dining establishment, it still feels like it's trying to find its niche and its go-to food items that customers rave about.

Great food, but I don't think they were prepared for the holiday traffic - took us over a half hour to place our entree order and then I didn't end up getting the second cocktail I ordered. The server was really nice and knew that it was a poor service experience so she gave us coupons to come back - my friend said he wouldn't return but I enjoyed the food and ambience enough that I will give them another try on a regular day!

The elote wedge salad is the bomb! Food and service are very good. Only complaint is that the portions are huge, so keep that in mind when ordering. Almost all items are shareable.

Felix's never disappoints. Great service with friendly accommodating staff and amazing food. The steak was able to be cut with a butter knife and the chicken parm is executed perfectly

We live in the neighborhood and wanted to try. It is a nice, upscale neighborhood which is a great tradition as Lakeview isn't really known for finer restaurants. We enjoyed our waitress, Leslie very much too. The happy hour menu was great.

Very nice dinner for 5 at a round table with a window overlooking Clark St. Excellent service, great food (many different choices including sides and apps). I have been once before this evening but certainly plan to go back.

Israel our server was great and the rest of the staff was also really attentive. Our food was great with good portions. Also had some nice cocktails. Vanilla Chai cheesecake was also delicious. The vibe of the restaurant is very cozy and warm.

Cute place with decent food although probably wouldn't go out of the way to go. The drinks were good and good happy hour selection too. Meatballs were a bit overbooked but still tasty, calamari was chewy and the fried jalapeños it came it was the highlight of the dish, potato skins were good and so was the Felix burger. The bar area is walled off from the dining room which kept it too low key, lacking in energy.

Cozy, chic atmosphere with great service - our server, Keegan, was a star.

Great wine list but the cocktails are a show stealer.

MUST order the beef carpaccio 🤌🏻
