Mixed experience. We were initially seated right by the door by a hostess, despite there being empty tables elsewhere, so we had to ask for a move. The atmosphere is fantastic and our waiter was great. The steak and wine were excellent, though the fettuccine was a bit oily. Oddly, we later saw that same hostess chilling with her sneakers up on one of the coffee tables.
We had a fantastic experience at Felix. The service was top-notch from start to finish, but the food was the real star. We started with the calamari and meatballs as appetizers—both were very generous portions. In fact, they were so substantial it made finishing our entrees a challenge, but that's a great "problem" to have! The absolute highlight for me was the beef tallow fries. It's rare to find a place that uses beef tallow for frying, and the difference...
Checked out this place once it replaced Hutch- same layout, different decor. Food: Whenever I find a place that has a beet salad, I immediately order it but unfortunately, this was not the case and our server didn't correct me when I said I wanted the beet salad. It's just sliced up beets, cheese, and honey. We also ordered the calamari which was okay. For a modern American dining establishment, it still feels like it's trying to find its niche and its go-to food...
