The donuts here were terrible. My kids usually can't stop eating donuts and they had a few bites of different ones and stopped. They all had awkward and strange flavors or ingredients in them which made them inedible. And worst of all it was 37 bucks for a dozen donuts.

Stopped in for a snack when my daughter and I were wandering around the Lincoln Park Zoo and the other parks nearby. They have everything from basics for the picky eaters (like my daughter) to the more adventurous (like myself) who want to try something new.

Firecakes is a gem for doughnut lovers! Their doughnuts are not only visually stunning but also incredibly fresh and flavorful. Each bite melts in your mouth, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. The menu offers a great variety, from classic options to more unique and creative flavors—there’s something for everyone.

The Maple Glazed Pineapple & Bacon doughnut is a must-try if you’re feeling adventurous, and their classic Buttermilk Old-Fashioned is simply perfection. Plus, their coffee pairs perfectly with the treats, making it a great spot for breakfast or a midday pick-me-up.

The staff is friendly, and the cozy atmosphere adds to the experience. If you’re in Chicago and have a sweet tooth, Firecakes should definitely be on your list. You won’t regret it!

Tahitian vanilla is my favorite. I had eaten 2/3 of it before I remembered that I should take a picture.

Went to the location near Lincoln Park and was not disappointed. It was so hard to choose as all the donuts looked great. Settled on a pistachio which I really liked and the Vanilla frosted which was good too.

Very good address for original donuts that change the channels.

A little shameful but for the cannelloni version it was worth it he recommends it with ricotta base sprinkled with cannelloni biscuit and pistachio.

The downside and what is often the case in donuts is the filling only in one half, another problem is the packaging which does not protect and I found it with an additional bag with holes so all the crumbs are flee what attracted the pigeons...
I think we really need to review the system, because donuts often crash and last thing is really difficult to eat properly 🫤

Original idea of combi donuts with ice cream and there are also filled cookies.

Without that I really recommend the place and charming, calm and attentive service 😊

Vegetarian options: Do not hesitate to ask, very attentive for any questions.

Mid. Went in at 2:30pm on a Thursday afternoon. One plain old fashioned and one pistachio old fashioned. Service was good but $10 for two unremarkable donuts didn't feel worth it. At least I can have a sugar nap.

This compact bakery impresses with its mighty donuts, including two 'The Bear'-inspired options: banana cream and pistachio. Both were remarkable, earning a spot in my top three donut spots. The staff's friendly demeanor and the cozy, intimate setting, accommodating a small group, add to the bakery's charm and character.

A great family donut shop.

I sat there for some time and listened to the people shopping there.

It was a wonderful time there. From there it's a nice 20 minute walk across the park to Lake Michigan.

Fire Cakes has been a successful purveyor of donuts in the competitive Chicago market for over a decade because of their balance between getting the classics right and offering creative and innovative options as well.

I am a big fan of their old-fashioned donuts, fruit fritters, and yeast-raised donuts. I was tickled yesterday to get to try their “Bear Box” inspired by The Bear.

Great coffee & service to boot! I like to order my donuts in advance to skip the line. My orders have always been correct. Highly recommended!!
