Young lady at the counter seemed inexperienced I spent almost $100 just to get home none of my sandwiches are made like I asked sandwich too much meat not as good as the original sandwich I first had 20 years ago from Taylor Street I was truly disappointed.

I just spent $50 for 3 sandwiches asked for extra mayo on all get home they are all dry so disappointed really had my heart set on this and bragged to my co-workers I will have to take it back not recommending and the young lady wrote it down and still got it wrong smh.

So I’m a regular customer at the Fontano’s in Evergreen for years!
However, today ( September 23rd 2025) I got the WORST service EVER by the little short woman that opened, I cld tell that she was fussing in her native language about something and my sandwich paid the price. I had to go back inside and request the same ingredients be added that I asked for at the beginning when I ordered.
Again, we all have Bad days, and usually their service is good and their sandwiches, I’m only doing this review in hopes that when Fontano reads this “ Hopefully “ she will stay home the next time she’s not feeling it””!
It’s just not fair to the loyal customers my sandwich was missing SEVERAL ingredients not just 1😞

Stopped at Fontanos yesterday and ordered an eight inch Turkey sandwich. Best turkey sandwich I've had in years. I will definitely be returning. Great service also.

Had this place marked on my map but I don't remember why. Since I happened to be in Chicago I decided to check it out. I didn't know what to expect but with a menu that is heavy in Italian style sandwiches I figured I couldn't go wrong. I ordered the Italian with hot peppers and wasn't disappointed. The bread was the right kind of chewy, the toppings in the 3 kinds of meat were well balanced and held in place perfectly while I ate. Highly recommend this location for service and quality.

Today service was not the best Hubert, The cashier rushed me through my order was a little bit rude today. The food is always terrific, but the cashier. Today was unnecessarily rough.
