Life has has kept me away from Fontano’s for the last decade. As luck would have it I found myself only 2 blocks away this weekend. Happy to report this place has aged like fine wine. The Big L and Wiseguy are even better than I remember. The Best sub sandwich in Chicago and it’s not close.
Ive had fontanos for lunch so often it probably has an impact of my cholesterol. Fantastic food, quick and friendly staff.

I know some other places are trendy, but y'all, let's be real. This is where you go to get GREAT subs. It feels like they've been there a million years, and they never miss. It's my favorite sandwich spot in the city. GO!

Turkey sandwich on my first visit. They are not skimpy on the deli meats, you will be satisfied with the quality and amount. Add the vinegar and oil, it’s definitely a plus. Will be back for the meatball sub.
