It's a sub and pizza shop. Not a full size restaurant so don't have that expectation. Didn't have the pizza so I can't review that. The subs, however, are absolutely delicious. If you're near a Fontano's go there. If you're not near, go as soon as you can if you love sub sandwiches.

Had an Italian beef with hot peppers that really hit the spot. Very convenient spot to take a break from the museum and walk across the street and get a tasty lunch. Most people looked like they were getting the pizza. Make sure to get au jus/juice on your sandwich. The peppers were hot, but not so hot your forehead broke out in sweat. I would come here again!

For a quick bite to eat. I ordered a sausage pizza slice and a drink. The slice was filling and reminded me of mall pizza. Thick crust, plenty of cheese, and a thicker bready crust. The toppings were kinda sparse. My wife ordered the vegetarian slice which was just spinach. She said it was ok. The flavor was nothing special but it's pizza. The staff was friendly and the price fair. The restrooms were difficult to access.

I stopped by Fontano's to check out their breakfast sandwich I saw them advertising on their website. Because we were having an early dinner, I knew that having lunch would not be an option, so I figured a late breakfast would hold me and The Doctor until dinner. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which was $9.50. It consisted of a two egg omelet with your choice of cheese (I got Cheddar) and choice of ham, bacon, or sausage....I went with Ham. There was also the option of the type of bread, so I went with ciabatta. You can also had additional items to the sandwich (lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, etc.) so I went with tomatoes. They also had fruit bowls for $5.00, which was a decent size container of cut fruit, but I didn't get that. Unfortunately I did not get a photo of the sandwich as The Doctor and I were chatting and just started eating. The sandwich was a decent size and we were able to each have half of one and were good to go until dinner. I would definitely go back here to get another one and may get one to go home with me once we check out of our hotel in a few days, it was that good.

Fontano's Subs & Pizzeria, a true staple of Anytown, USA. Walking into this classic deli and pizzeria is like taking a step back in time. The regulars populated the few small tables, engrossed in conversations that have likely continued for decades. The counter is well-worn but overflowing with options - meats and cheeses for subs calling my name. But it's the smell of bubbling cheese and yeast that had me fixated on the wide array of pies spinning in the brick oven. Fontanos is known for keeping it simple - cheese, pepperoni, veggie. Classics that don't need complication. I decided to grab a slice of each to sample. As I took my first bite of that flaky crust giving way to molten melty cheese, I understood why this place has been a go-to for Anytown residents young and old for so long. The flavors were pure with nothing extraneous added. With mouth still full, I took in my surroundings more - the familiar faces, black and white photos of the shop through the eras, the well-worn wood paneling. It's clearly more than just a spot to grab a quick lunch. It's a place where community gathers and traditions carry through the generations. I'll have to be back to try some subs next time, but for now this pizza hit the spot in every way. A true Anytown classic.
