Reliably good food and service. I have tried something different each time and always been great.We found it when attending a tasting for a friend's wedding. The staff was super helpful with the weddi g party. There are multiple spaces for receptions and other events.

The portion sizes are comically small. The rigatoni entree was literally 15 rigatoni. The service was over-bearing like they were trying to get us out in a hurry (the check came less than an hour after we were seated). Nothing special about the food. Do not recommend.

as we sat down they insisted on ordering immediately and the entire order... no need to think starters and main menu right away... the food was overpriced... brussels sprouts burned, broccolini slathered in oil and raw... their service was so slow I ordered an extra glass of wine as soonest my steak was served it came after my meal was over and later... never written a bad order about a restaurant but it seemed they just wanted to FLIP the table yet by the time we left tables were empty... worst restaurant in Chicago! the bill was over $750.00 go to RL or Gibson's for a better restaurant!

Menu variety had me very excited to try this place. However, food was too greasy without other well balanced flavors. Feel like I overpaid. Perhaps dining in makes it feel like the price is worth it for service and atmosphere but I probably won’t visit to find out.
Thank you for taking us despite our party arriving 15 minutes late. We work in the service industry and wanted to celebrate a coworker's birthday. Everything was perfect except one thing, a miscommunication between server and guest. We were up charged for a sidecar, I have no problem paying for my food/drinks, but why charge me for XO cognac when I'm asking for a cocktail? The least you could have done was check in with me before charging me twice $34 for a single cocktail. You don't have vs or vsop? Justyne thank you for your service but we definitely did not appreciate that.
Our meal was great as always. We sat outside on the patio and our server Tasha was the best. We love dining here whenever in town. If you're unsure of what to get, the grilled octopus and meatballs are AMAZING! Can't say enough good things about the place.

Despite telling them we were celebrating our anniversary and half of the downstairs tables being empty, we were sat in their upstairs room. The room itself has little decor and looks like a bad wedding reception. We were sandwiched between two tables of 10+ both with small children who were running around the table and screaming. The server was kind but the situation was ridiculous. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer to which we thought we were getting punked. The dish came out on a bed of ice that is clearly used to serve at least 12 oysters instead of the FIVE measly shrimp that we were served. I will say the wine was good and we both enjoyed our mushroom risotto during the meal (though I did get food poising from it). They came out at the end with a scoop of ice cream in honor of our anniversary. Overall, not the best. They should offer a discount for the upstairs because it is a completely different experience. If I had known that we would be upstairs between all of the screaming children, I never would have selected this restaurant for what was supposed to be a special occasion.

What a fun and delicious gem. Four longtime lady, friends came to celebrate 70th birthdays. We were seated in a huge and luxurious banquette , and they had us at our first meeting with our waiter, Michael. In the booth next to us were four women in their 30s, laughing and enjoying their friendship. The vibe is timeless. The food is amazing… There wasn’t anything less than Stellar. You have to go here..
Absolutely loved it here! Went for my sister's birthday. Food was delicious, restaurant is beautiful, and service was exceptional. A special thanks to our server Nina, she was wonderful. I will be going back soon, not just for the food but for Nina! 5 stars all around. Love this place.

Booked a reservation on a Friday night. I didn't realize when we booked on OpenTable that we would be sitting in the heated outdoor space. It's a fine space, but not even close to the ambience of the inside. If I had known then I would not have booked. Other restaurants on OpenTable tell you upfront. Food was good, service was a little slow at times (it was busy). I also signed up for the loyalty program on the website, only to find out later that it was not in effect which seemed odd to me.

The food and drinks were so delicious! Our entire party loved every single item we ordered! On top of it, our waiter Travis was exceptional and made our experience so much fun! He is a fantastic server and bartender and made the meal extra special. We look forward to going back soon and highly recommend Formentos to others! A gem in the city!
