incredible pulls on the espresso. Staff is great. My only complaint is for some reason I just don’t like their iced coffee and I’ve heard the same from friends, wish they would adjust it somehow
Was in Chicago while my fiancé was having a medical procedure, so while killing time I was looking for a solid espresso shop option and a Reddit post recommended here. It didn’t disappoint! The barista made an excellent suggestion, I had asked them if they recommended anything and to be honest I don’t remember what it was called. 🤣 But it was delicious and made extremely quickly.

Lever espresso is such a specialty, worth the drive. Also what other shop has Gesha for espresso? This place is a gem and you’re lucky to have it near you if you live close by.
Nice cafe
Not enough seating but warm staff
I loved my oat milk latte, space may be small but is warm and inviting, baristas know their craft!

4LW is one of the best cafes in the city for a picky coffee lover. They also have plenty of things to offer the casual coffee consumer. The baristas always stay calm under pressure which makes the experience really pleasant.
The only criticism I have is that some of their signatures are way too sweet. The Ube and Pandan Vanilla syrups, while delicious, have some of their notes drowned out by sweetness. I wish there was a half sweet option for these flavors.

Do not go here. Asked for my matcha to be just a little darker because it was milky and the barista threw dry matcha powder on top of my drink. Obviously knowing that is wrong to do. He could’ve just said no or if you want it darker buy another one. When I went back to ask for it to be remade he refused to apologize or accept that what he did was wrong. Totally arrogant an entitled. I don’t care if there’s a line that was an insane action for him to take. No excuse. Bad person bad service. The other lady working with him was at least nice and apologized on his behalf. They remade it after not admitting it was wrong and didn’t even add the vanilla I paid for. Crazy.

Today my niece went here to get a matcha latte like she had seen on the shops social media. Dark green creamy and delicious looking. When she got the drink it was pale green and too milky which was disappointing after paying $10 for a latte. When she brought it up to the barista (after waiting in line because they didn’t acknowledge her when she walked up) the guy literally look away (refuse to look her in the eyes) and dump some more matcha powder on top. When she was shocked and let him know that won’t mix in and be a lumpy drink he just grabbed another cup and swished them back and forth a few times. When this didn’t do the job and she waked back a second time to get the drink she paid for he finally remade it as he should, but left out the vanilla she asked (and paid)for. Unfortunately she didn’t notice this until she was in the car and didn’t feel like going back a 3rd time.

As someone who likes to try her coffee black first for quality and then add her fixings - some of the best coffee in Chicago. Our group had a Cafe con Leche w/oat milk, espresso, and a macchiato - all done to perfection.
