PERMANENTLY CLOSED. That's all I have to say, though Yelp is requiring me to write more so they can post this review. I reported the business closed a couple weeks ago but they did not make this change yet, they closed after New Year. Is this enough words now? Let's try submitting!

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Chicago. Amazing staff and elegant decor.

Fine Italian dining. We chose for my birthday while staying on the north side and it was the perfect place. Cozy, fine service.

Unless you have low expectations, don't ever bother catering from them. Very disappointing. "Half tray" tiramisu was literally six slices of tiramisu in a tray. And it's suppose to serve 8-10 people. Okay. Sure. Waste of my time. Also, they didn't even have my order when I came to pick it up. Whats the point of ordering it 5 days in advance?

The food is quite good, however, we have had somewhat of slow service each time we’ve gone. Last night when we went, we were rushed out the door because they wanted our table… We were not even there an hour and felt frantically rushed out. Beyond that, the food is great!!

My husband and I had dinner here on Saturday evening with another couple. Decor was lovely, food was delicious, service was good but the music was awful! The music piped in throughput the restaurant was loud and not appropriate for the setting. The selections appeared to be songs from perhaps the 80's or 90's and was playing so loud it was difficult to hear the servers and to hold a conversation with our friends. At our request, they did lower the volume slightly for a short while, but it still made it difficult to enjoy our evening. Soft background instrumental music would have been much more pleasant. We do not plan to return.

Moses was the supreme server for our group of five. We had drinks then dinner before our theater tickets across the street at 7: 30. He made sure we had plenty of time and we had a lovely meal that was exactly as we asked for it. We shall definitely return!

Nice wine list. Went for just a glass of red before dinner. People were nice and chatty.

It's actually really good. I rate it at a 4* coz the prices are a bit high for the neighborhood , and the menu is a bit smallBut the food is top notch

Francesca's Bryn Mawr is our favorite restaurant, one which we have fully enjoyed for many years. From their thoughtfully beginning every meal with fresh, warm, crusty bread and olive oil to all of their delightful, freshly prepared foods through house made desserts and scrumptious, creamy gelato and Italian coffees and espressos, every aspect of the meal is far above average. Daily specials help fight ennui. Their full bar is well staffed by pros. The wine list is very good and well rounded. Servers are thoughtful and efficient. Decor is warmly modern. The outdoor area is about as good as possible in their situation. There is no better spot for an intimate meal or a good sized party. We very highly recommend Francesca's on Bryn Mawr. We have unfailingly been made happy here every time we have visited. **UPDATE! 10.2021** We recently had the pleasure to celebrate S's birthday at the bar with Michael as our bartender and server. Everything I wrote a few years ago has remained of the same stellar accomplishment: warm, fresh, crusty bread with oil and/or room temperature sweet cream butter; perfectly prepared fish for S and pasta with house sausage for me; an elegant list of unusual wines; delightful desserts, marvelous and creative cocktails. Their highest quality ingredients coupled with superb execution are almost taken for granted now- even expected. What truly stood out amid all the typical excellence was Michael. He generously, kindly and thoughtfully created charming little birthday gifts for S. throughout our visit and proved himself to be of an excellence in quality to match his employer's. He's their resident chocolatier and sommelier and it shows in the scrumptiousness of the truffles he creates and his pairings of them with wines and spirits. Francesca's gave us a house-made limoncello through Michael that was the perfect final mouthful. Michael offers classes in chocolate making and we intend to enjoy and learn at his next available date. We suggest you do too. Francesca's Bryn Mawr is a true delight of our life. Michael's warmth, knowledge and good humor is now an inextricable part of all our good feelings about this marvelous gem of a restaurant. Truly, P&S

My family went to this restaurant the other night. The food was delicious, the waitress Eliza was terrific, however the background music drove us crazy. Who plays '70s love songs at an Italian restaurant? I would highly suggest that they change the music from 70s love songs over to either jazz, swing, or big-band music. The music was very distracting all night...

I had my wedding rehearsal at this location and our server, Matt, was absolutely amazing! He was quick with drink orders, very attentive, and so friendly and helpful. He busted his butt all night and we were so appreciative!! Thank you Matt!!
