Excellent service, the food was delicious. The coffee was very good and the waitresses were always attentive.
Absolutely loved Frida Room! Cozy vibe, amazing service, and the food was bursting with flavor. Easily one of the best brunch spots in Chicago. HEADS UP... BYOB. Only downside .
Quaint little restaurant with outdoor seating and wonderful open windows. Excellent service.

We had such a great time at Frida room this weekend. the service was great. My family was visiting from out of town and they were very impressed with the restaurant.
I had an amazing experience. It's so hard to find a sit-down full service restaurant that's open for breakfast, so I'm glad I found this place. The decorations were gorgeous. I loved all the paintings. The food was delicious. They had the best coffee I've ever had at a restaurant. I love Mexican food, and this place had some of those best Mexican food I've ever had. The server was spectacular. It was my birthday, so the waiters surprised me with a free dessert and a song. I'll definitely be going back there.

I really like this place, but the service sucks. Hostes it is rude, but servers are ok. It is ridículos to be waiting to use the bathroom forever.
Food it's ok, not so tasty, but it's ok. More american that Mexican.
Great atmosphere thought, always crowded.

My husband and I went for breakfast, I was excited to go because the restaurant has good reviews. All I can say is the breakfast is way overpriced for the quality of the food. I ordered the Chilaquiles verdes. The sauce was good, the cheese and crema on top was tasty, the beans on the side were very good but... But the actual chilaquiles were a let down. They tasted like someone took a bag of thin tortilla chips and poured green salsa on them. They were mushy which is okay when the sauce is very cooked into them but the sauce was kinda just on top. Now let me just say right here and now I like both crispy and soft chilaquiles. But the flavor needs to be cooked in. And I think the texture of the tortilla pieces was just too thin to hold the sauce correctly and (although the sauce was great) the dish tasted cheap because of that. The other thing was there was no avocado on the side, you have to purchase avocado on the side. It was sliced nice and would have been nice if it wasn't so brown. I got steak with the Chilaquiles. The steak looked grey, with no char marks at all, no browning. It was just grey. Not really appetizing to look at but I went ahead and tasted it, the flavor was not bad, and it was actually very tender. But there was a line of gristle and fat going right through it. I don't think I would have minded so much if the piece of meat wasn't so small. When I cut away the gristle there was barely any meat left. Ugh $18 for the Chilaquiles, $3 for the avocado, and $5 for the steak piece ($26 total for a mediocre plate of chilaquiles). Nope, don't do it.
My husband got the steak and eggs. His steak was also grey and very small. It was not 5 oz. Looked like half a slice of minute steak. He ordered scrambled and was surprised to find they came folded, they were delicious flavor wise and texture wise, he said they were fluffy and yummy. But he was very disappointed in the steak. The side of potatoes were just fair according to him and very under seasoned. Included was a side of pancakes, he didn't like the texture of them and felt they were very dense and lacked flavor. Steak and eggs $18
Now on to the coffee, the Cafe de olla was very good, a little on the sweet side. But I would go back for that coffee. My husband had the house coffee and also enjoyed his coffee, remarked it was on the stronger side which he liked. Olla coffee $5.50 , reg coffee $5
The service was very good up until we were done, then it took a while to get our check. It was not busy in there.
Total with tax $60.10 + 20% tip
So over $70 for a mediocre to average breakfast, (not worth it). Better off paying a couple dollars more and going to The Smith or somewhere more upscale and getting a great brunch deal on a way better steak. And if you're craving chilaquiles there's way better ones around the corner at casa del Pueblo... just sayin. How are you gonna charge these prices for slivers of steak and paper thin tortilla chips with salsa thrown on top? Save your money and go somewhere with better food.

despite over an hour wait (huge catering order), the staff was attentive, making sure coffee and anything else we needed was taken care of. Food was excellent when it came out, dare I say, it was Definitely worth the wait. Had a friend join me as my food was coming out, his order turn around was under 10 mins. Will definitely be back!

Atmosphere was good; featuring a rustic and “art-heavy” interior. Service was quick and very attentive, and the food was good; would highly recommend!
