I ordered a large bowl of ramen. The flavor was good, though a bit salty for my taste. The portion of meat was generous, but I expected more noodles for a large size.

The spicy shrimp ramen is consistently great. The gyoza and shrimp tempura are really good as well. Absolutely nothing bad to say about the place. I only ordered for delivery but would go in if I’m in the area.

Excellent late night spot in the summer. Really good food and friendly staff
There is not a lot of seating. I recommend no more than 4 in a group

Compare to the ramen places closed by, Friends ramen has better portions but the quality is not as good (not saying is bad). The service was very good and the they offer mochi if you share food on IG.

First trip to Chicago, this was a year ago but I find myself looking for ramen like this in New York and can’t find it. I was in Chicago for only 4 days and had the same dish twice (spicy shrimp) and a year later I’m still thinking about it just simply amazing 😍

I ordered the veggie ramen and it was kinda boring! Seemed only slightly better than microwave instant noodles (flavor wise). My tween son got the tofu buns, which he ate. The server also mistakenly told me there was no dairy in the Japanese cream soda (there is and it’s clearly listed on the bottle’s ingredients) so I felt a little unsure about my vegetarian ramen’s ingredients (and didn’t ask). It’s a casual spot small groups only, and there are plenty other options with a 15 minute walk radius. I’d pass.
I love coming here, the interior is super cute and cozy, the staff are always friendly and the food is great. I like their smaller size for ramen and rice bowls because you can get a few to share with your party or just one if you're not in the mood for a typical large ramen bowl. Definitely a downtown gem!
