From out of town and had to decide between so many unknown sushi options. Saw the reviews and was not disappointed. Great location and decor. Excellent service and great food. A big thumbs up.

Sushi was delicious! Definitely would recommend. The friends roll was my favorite!
My daughters and I ate here for the first time on Sunday and loved it! We highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning again the next time we are in town.
We were introduced to Friends by a close friend who is from Japan. It is is hidden gem with tasty food that is well presented, and a terrific, very warm staff.
Best sushi in town. The service is impeccable, the food presentation (& taste) resembles art, and the vibe/ambience is chic and intimate but also inviting, upbeat and relaxing. The staff is attentive, warm, helpful, knowledgeable and kind. 5 stars! ⭐️ 🌟 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ hidden gem of Chicago!
In my opinion, the best place for Japanese food in town! Nice place, excellent food and great service! Definitely 5 stars!
I got sick from eating here. I didn't even eat any raw fish, just fish eggs on my california roll. My best guess is they don't manage their meal prep area well and it got cross contamination. Never been sick from a california roll in my life, but I guess that's why they put an * next to it...ughhh.

Food was overall not bad. They have a "hospitality fee" for 3.5% included in the bill.
Great food and drinks.

Friends sushi is probably one of the best sushi places here in town. The sushi is always really good it's not overpriced great portions great service. I always have a great time every single time I go here.
We wanted a quiet place for a date night and some good sushi. We were disappointed on both counts. The fish was fresh, but the sushi was inexpertly rolled and prepared. The cocktails (we had a Moscow Mule and a gin cocktail) were both way too sweet. The tempura was greasy and the agedashi tofu was the worst I've ever had (cold in the center, not crispy, made without care, the dashi tasted mostly of soy sauce). The hamachi crudo was quite good, but not good enough to make up for all the disappointments. Probably won't go back. Oh, and the music was TERRIBLE covers of pop songs that was pretty loud and disruptive to conversation.
We had a great time! Food was brought out fast and the recommendations were excellent. Cute atmosphere, and drinks were great. Would definitely go back again
