The Barbito Burger is Absolutely Phenomenal!!! Great eatery. Great menu. The staff is very welcoming. I should have eaten more Barbito Burgers while in Chicago

We couldn't be sadder that Gadabout is closing. This is our favorite place to eat - we've had anniversaries and Valentine's days here. The staff are always super friendly, the food is unparalleled and the desserts are a religious experience.

Surprising and well executed flavor combinations that delight the senses through each course beginning with drinks. The perfect date night when seeking something different and delicious.

The biggest review feedback is that we have to come back within the next two weeks.....even though all staff is great-we call it the Gadabout Family, Jack made our last one of the two a special time. In fact the person we brought was a new person who would have brought her daughters but you are closing! Think positive that the best culinary couple will be back with a new restaurant called....Gadabout Reappeared! Thanks again for that special restaurant experience even though it was short.....

This place has been my neighborhood favorite, but recently announced they're closing later in November. The night of this visit, they were out of multiple items (including 3 of the main plate options, leaving nothing our table could order) as well as several of the smaller plate options. This wasn't mentioned upon being seated, only when we tried to order. Food and drinks came painfully slowly (10-15 mins for drinks, 30+ for each food course). Our server was polite and friendly, just clearly overwhelmed. The dishes we WERE able to order came in noticeably smaller portions than the multiple other times we've ordered the same items, and with less sauce/spice as before too. Extremely disappointing Sadly, it appears they're closing for good reason.

Great ambiance, excellent food and service. We were told they will be closing on November 27 for good, so sad. The cocktails are excellent, and the flavors amazing! Highly recommended.

Gadabout nails the flavors every time, I love bringing people here. The meat dishes run very expensive, overall they're pretty small plates and a little pricey but the food is so good I keep coming back! I recommend it even for people who are a little nervous about the menu. Save room for dessert.

The servers were delightful, and the food was incredible. However, we went for brunch on a Sunday around noonish and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Nevertheless, they were kind and helpful -- just seemed like they needed another set of hands to help out! Let me just say again -- the food (and the brunch cocktails) are scrumptious. We will definitely return!

Super creative offerings with flavors that are unique and different. We loved everything we tried. The ambiance is super chill, yet classy. The cocktails as inventive as the food. I will be back over and over again.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone ever! We ordered the fried potatoes and corn to share and they were incredibly good. The flavors and textures were clearly well thought through. As a "main course", we had the huli huli chicken, which was out of this world, and the salmon. This was the best salmon i have ever had in a restaurant. The fish was excellent, cooked to perfection, and the flavors of the demi, puree, ponzu, apples and horseradish were a perfect pairing for it!. Cannot recommend it enough.

We hit all the Chicago food highlights- pizza, hot dogs, and even a Michelin starred restaurant- on this trip… but I have to say Gadabout took the cake. So well balanced and inventive. Fabulous service from Steven. You’re getting a great value for the price here. It made the Michelin Guide for a reason! Worth a stop!

I am surprised this place hasn't more reviews, it definitly deserves to be known. I love being surprised by textures, colors and unexpected tastes, this is the right place for that. The place is very chill and elegant, service is perfect, and the food is just amazing. Everything was so inspiring and intriging that I didn't want to choose, so it's a good thing that the portions are relatively small (and I'm saying that from a French pespective). We were 2 and we got 5 dishes + 1 dessert and it was the right amount. You'll have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options, I was adviced cocktails that turn out to be excellent. I'll come back to try the other dishes for sure, and you should come too haha

Cannot recommend enough. Menu is very accommodating to both vegetarians and gluten free guests. Our server was kind, knowledgeable, and checked in often enough without being overbearing. The restaurant itself is cute, and even though it was busy it didnt get too loud. Everything we had was great; started with the chips & dip, crudo, and fried potatoes. The apple salad was also great. Entrees were the braised tofu and pork jowel. Excited to come back and try more of the me u.

I've been to Gadabout many times and it's always a fantastic experience. Unique plates with incredible flavors blending together making each offering delicious. Took a friend with me who had never been before, and she easily said it was the best food she ever had (it was the first thing she thought about when waking up the next morning, even). Highly recommend.
