The food was phenomenal as always! Unfortunately the AC could not keep up and the room was pushing 80°, not to mention being out of a number of appetizers and wines. Love this place, just seemed like an off night!
Horrible service. Waiter came to our table less than 4 times over the course of two hours. The food was nothing exceptional, but quite expensive. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.
The food was AMAZING (5 stars for that piece), however those who ordered pasta got our food at least 15 minutes before the people who ordered pizza and we had to ask about the pizzas a couple of times before they were made and brought out. The service was very, very slow, in general and it was so loud when we arrived that it was nearly impossible to hear our server or each other. It was also very hot in the restaurant. The air conditioning was on, but the front windows were also open, so it felt like we were outside and it was a very humid and hot day. Despite that, I would definitely go back for the food!
When we arrived on time for our reservation, we were told it would be 20-25 minutes. When I explained that I would need to eat right away due to low blood sugar, looking for options such as bread service while we waited, the hostess took a nasty and hostile attitude. Someone then led us upstairs to an overcrowded, extremely loud space and offered us a table crammed in between a nearby other table and the staircase. The table was still wet. When we asked for the table to be wiped down, the hostess again adopted a hostile demeanor. We then decided to leave the restaurant without sitting g down. We had a lovely meal at the steakhouse nearby.
Gallucci is one of my favorite spots in Old Town (wonderful wood fired pizza!!) but recently I’ve noted a noticeable shift in service. I am not one to post negative reviews especially of local establishments but after my recent experiences, I feel inclined to share that one particular server has now made my dining experience incredibly poor twice now.
This particular server on both occasions has been rude, difficult to communicate with, and most recently was challenging to deal with over dietary restrictions (someone in our group was vegetarian) and then most recently, lied about a liquor selection that resulted in a grossly overpriced cocktail. Even upon being kindly asked about the situation, this server was unnecessarily defensive, rude, and only further revealed they’d lied and selected the highest priced option available without communication nor clarity.
All this to say, we’re big fans of Gallucci and absolutely want them to continue to be successful in our neighborhood but would encourage management to ensure servers are clearly offering mixed cocktail options as well as being receptive when dietary restrictions are involved.
Gallucci is a legit Old Town standout. We kicked it off with the fritta pizza bites and polpette al forno, super flavorful. Then dove into the Terra Mia and Pistachio Pesto pies, crispy crust, fresh toppings, total fire. Ended with Angioletti Fritti and tiramisù. Cozy digs, friendly staff, zero pretense, highly recommend.
Happened to make a res here yesterday due to Fest proximity and so glad I did! We loved it. The food was so authentic, high quality and delicious. Maddie (Maggie?) the host and Anna the server were so friendly and accommodating. The patio was lovely and the espresso martinis were 👌will def be back the next time I’m in Old Town!
We came here to celebrate a birthday, expecting a fun night and decent food. Unfortunately, it was anything but. While our server and busser were fantastic (shoutout to them for being the only highlight), the rest of the experience was a mess.
The food? Mediocre and overpriced. Not memorable, not worth it.
But what really blew us away—in the worst way—was the ridiculous cake fee. We brought a birthday cake, which they charged us to cut (fine, annoying, but whatever). Then, when we offered a few slices to the friendly group next to us, staff literally warned them they’d be charged if they ate it—and then took the cake back! It was bizarre and completely killed the celebratory vibe.
For a place charging these kinds of prices, you’d expect some basic hospitality and grace. Instead, we got petty rules, stiff attitudes, and zero sense of occasion.
4.1/10 overall. Won’t be back. If you’re celebrating something special, go somewhere else.
This local eatery could be a great casual option on Wells for better than average pizza and Italian style fare. However, the music is so loud and off-putting, it makes conversation nearly impossible. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the ambience of the restaurant is nice, but the owners should lower the volume and better yet put on some more appropriate music to match a more welcoming vibe (lively Italian and American pop perhaps but not dance club music). It honestly is the reason I wouldn't return with so many other options on Wells Street.
Solid restaurant in Old Town. Good portions of pasta and it was delicious. Gluten free options available. The pizza dough was phenomenal but the toppings not as noteworthy. Prices were pretty standard with other restaurants in the area. Service was good. Would be nice if they had a cheaper wine option. Otherwise, good experience.

I hate posting bad reviews… but here’s another honest one: this place was all over social media and sadly, it did not live up to the hype. My friends and I were all disappointed 😬
Here’s what we got:
• Focaccia with burrata – doesn’t come with balsamic glaze, but get it or it’s dry
• Arancini – cold + super dry… definitely needed some kind of sauce ❌
• Rigatoni alla Vodka – mid… nothing special, underwhelming
• Pizza Parmigiana – just… no. One bite was enough 😬
Started off okay with the focaccia, but the rest? Not it.
I always try to keep it real — and this just wasn’t good. Wouldn’t go back.
I've been here 4 times in the past year. Usually it's a fun experience. This time we waited 20 mins before a server came to our table. Then our order took another 45 mins to arrive. Several parties were served before us. We had 2 Gluten Free pizzas which could have been the issue. I will say the pizza is really good and my favorite place to sit and eat is at the bar.
Good food, slow service
The place is great, but for Small as it is and busy, it's loud and then they had the music cranking so it was way too loud, but great food great service
Good food, tables are super close together and service just felt like they wanted us out fast as possible.
