Pierce was the sweetest and most attentive server I've ever had, I am not versed in wine and asked for a sweet recommendation and he picked one that I ended up having two glasses of! I had the braised short rib and it was delightful!!

I loved my experience at Gather. It was so cozy and quaint for a Sunday night dinner. Our server was so helpful and nice without being pushy at all. He let us take our time and enjoy the meal. We got the Brussel sprouts, meatballs, ravioli and the apple donuts. All of which were spectacular- the ravioli was the star. Definitely worth a visit and now it’s going to become a regular in the rotation for me.

Love this place! This is the type of restaurant that makes common dishes uncommonly well. In particular the half chicken is beyond delicious. The cocktails are on point, and they have great selection of unique N/A drinks. I really appreciate that those N/A drinks are closer in price to a soda than a cocktail. $15+ mocktails always seemed egregious to me. I’ve been lucky enough to eat here a few times, and I’ve never had a bad bite of food.

Good food, creative recipes, and good service but with small portions and no air conditioning in the heart of Chicago's hipsterville. The cocktails in particular are creative and excellent, but also small, served in the new-style dinky short-pour cocktail glasses that drain quickly. The atmosphere is pleasant but loud and the acoustics are such that you will hear every word every person is saying in the tables around you, and vice versa.

My fiancé and I had a fabulous dinner on the back patio last night weekend. Everything is meant for sharing, which is our favorite because you get to try so many tasty things. All of the food was delicious but the raviolo and the donut dessert were the stand outs. Also got the Brussels sprouts, steak tartare and the short rib. The drinks were also delicious - the honey lavender lemonade + gin was so refreshing. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area.

We ate here last night and we loved it! We sat on the patio out back. The atmosphere both inside and on the patio is beautiful. Our server was really friendly, attentive, and knowledgable about the menu. Everything we ate and drank was delicious. We each started with a cocktail and switched to wine at dinner, all of which was really good. We started with the steak tartare, lamb meatballs, crispy cauliflower, and pappardelle. For our mains most of us got the short rib and the other got the chicken. For dessert we had the donuts and ice cream. Every dish tasted flavorful and so fresh. We will definitely go back here. I can’t wait to try the other dishes on the menu that we didn’t get to this time around!

This place is near the Old Town School of Folk Music and is a great place to stop before classes or a show. We shared a mix of.enteees including the short rib, shrimp pasta and glazed tofu. The pasta was exceptionally good. A rare find was the apple donut dessert. the donut was made fresh and was light and just slightly sweet topped off for vanilla ice cream. I would return just for this dessert.
Parking: City parking lot just south of the restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: This is really an adult venue. Well behaved children shouldn't be an issue.

Gather deserves more than 5 stars! We had an incredible evening out on their back patio. When we arrived my daughter wasn't feeling well. The hostess and our server immediately helped us and got her what she needed. They were so kind to her. We opted for the family meal which did not disappoint. The food was amazing from start to finish. They provide some of the best service I have ever had at a restaurant. They anticipate your needs and where you are in the meal before you even have time to process what you actually need! Food and drinks kind of just magically appeared at the table without us even realizing they were taking things away and putting new things on the table. Our experience and meal is one of our favorite memories from our trip to Chicago. When we are back this will be one of our first stops.

Really love Gather—it’s become a special place for me and my family. Great food (especially the cauliflower appetizer), wonderful service, and a covered patio area for open air dining. Every meal I’ve had here has been delicious and memorable.

Has a parking lot almost right next door. Very easy to park and meal was fantastic. Love that everything is farm to table and you can tell how fresh everything is
Visiting Chicago from Austin, a friend who works in the food industry in Chicago recommended this restaurant. Excellent menu, excellent food and great service. Bit of a hike for us, staying downtown, but definitely worth it and more.
