This was our first time at G&G. What a memorable meal. Their lamb chops were outstanding -THE best. The server gave us excellent suggestions re: wine and menu items.
My Wife and I flew in from Los Angeles after a grueling 27 hour delayed flight. We were able to not only get a table but after speaking with Angelo, received the best table in the house! Our server Alex was superb, attentive and engaging on a Saturday night and this legendary family owned restaurant always delivers the best Italian food available anywhere! Sincerely, Robert F and Donita S
The best restaurant PERIOD. Erica the manager was SOOO accommodating. Brought some friends for their 1st time and she made our meal special. Asked for the Library Room and Erica was amazing and attentive. The server, Carlos made our meal timing perfect. The Gibson was superb. Ceasars salad was split. Meatballs were the BEST. Bolognese was delicious then the Tomahawk Ribeye was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Top down....as stated THE BEST! THANKS AGAIN, ERICA.
If you love Chicago, go here here for a great steak. Only prime aged meats. Clam appetizer was delicious! We had filet and skirt steak, vesuvio potatoes, creamed spinach, homemade spumoni, coffee. All wonderful.
The service was great, we really enjoyed the meal. The tables are too close to each other its kind of uncomfortable. We made reservations and when we got there the host did not know where to sit us...
I celebrated my birthday last night here and I was disappointed with the food. The pasta bolognese had no flavor ,& was very watered down. No hearty, meaty flavor. Was not made with love. Also, the salad had no dressing. Plain washed salad. I would not recommend this. Disappointing because this place is supposed to be well known for traditional authentic Italian food.
I absolutely loved this place. Service was excellent and food was even better. I came here on the recommendation of a friend and this will be my go to place every time I’m back in town. Love the vibe here also.
Wow!!! My taxi driver told me about this place. What a great place to have dinner. Great crowd amazing food. Top notch. Drinks were also very good. Servers were so nice and fast service. They were always around. This place has a history and there is a reason for it. 10 thumbs up. Shout out to our server Juan who has been there for a long long time. Every time I am in town i will definitely have a dinner here.

Good but not quite excellent, with a few caveats.
The check in process was crowded, ambiguous, and slightly uncomfortable. There is no host check-in, just a couple of people walking around with lpads in a crowded bar area. I feel like if I hadn't traversed the crowd to get someone's attention to let them know I was there for my 8 o'clock reservation, they would have let me stand all evening partially in the main entrance doorway and directly behind patrons eating at the bar.
The service was good, but felt just a little off. That's the best way I can describe it. My partner and I were not drinking alcohol but were asked several, SEVERAL times if we wanted some wine or something from the bar. It was borderline pushy at worst, and just weird at best.
The food was good but not great. For all the space they used on the menu telling me how their steaks are sourced from the best of the best, my filet had a few tough, low quality spots.
It was nice to go to one of the city's iconic places. I ate all my food and I felt like the price was reasonable. I might go back someday, especially if I have out of town guests. There are, however, so many restaurants in the immediate area that I would probably choose first if it's just my partner and I.

An esteemed Italian steakhouse with an affable and solicitous server. The New York strip and filet mignon were prepared flawlessly to medium-rare. The house-made spaghetti is simply delightful. The restaurant's classic ambiance evokes a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the 1950s.

Came here for the first time after hearing much about the restaurant. We were seated quickly and the server was very attentive. We ordered a shrimp cocktail that the shrimp were over cooked and rubbery. Cocktail sauce was not up to par.
The prime rib was good but not 2 fingers thick. And the au jus was more gravy than au jue. The Ciccio and Pepe pasta was very watery and had little flavor. With all the choices in Chicago would look to visit them next time.

A little crowded when my friend and I got there, but it's downtown Chicago. Once seated it was amazing. Celebrating my friend at a Chicago establishment was amazing. The server was attentive and great customer service. We had the garbage salad (its a must) and a bone-in ribeye with brussel sprouts.
Parking: Use the valet they provide it prevents a headache of parking if you are driving in.

Gene & Georgetti served up one of the best porterhouse steaks that we have ever experienced. It was absolutely perfect! We loved the overall history and atmosphere of this place in general, plus the service was outstanding. It is a must visit restaurant in Chicago, and we actually preferred it here to Gibson's Steakhouse.
