This is absolutely one of my favorite places in Chicago. I'm not a fan of 75 day dry aged beef that has the juices of beef jerkey which seems to be the only thing available in all the other Chicago steak houses. G&G is wet aged, so you get a flavorful and juicy steak that just hits. The service was great, and we had an absolute blast.

We went here for restaurant week (how we like to try some of the Chicago classic spots where we get to try what the restaurant thinks is best!) and were pretty disappointed by the Chicago classic. The ambience and service are great and it's a nice restaurant where you can actually have a conversation without being drowned out by noise, but the food really fell short. The calamari and fries were woefully under-salted and the chicken Parm was flavorless and dry with a mushy pasta as a side. A partially redeeming quality was a flavorful steak, although I was served a near blue steak after asking for medium rare. At this point, I wouldn't recommend for dinner service, but maybe go for a nice glass of wine or cocktail

A group of us go to Chicago during December to shop, eat, drink and be merry. G & G has been on our list for some time. The food is mediocre at best. The service was mediocre. This guy couldn’t get us out of there fast enough. He’s been there awhile. Expensive. For the money and experience, we have enjoyed so many other places. If you are on limited time in Chicago, go somewhere else.

Crowded as always but the bustle is expected and fun. Cozy decor. Food was somewhat disappointing this time though. Soupy creamed spinach, flavorless filet, overdressed Caesar salad, but a nice burrata salad. Good wine list and a very good cosmopolitans (ask for Cointreau). Valet parking is nice. Great service!

There's a reason it's been here forever! My first time dining here but not the last. Arrived early for my reservation and sat at the bar for about 30 min; excellent service and ambiance. Our meal was outstanding. We had baked clams, the bone in ribeye and onion rings for our side. Cooked perfectly! The service is attentive and warm, the vibe and mood everywhere is “old school Chicago” with a hint of Wisconsin supper club. A delightful place to celebrate any occasion. Of note is even though it was busy, you could comfortably talk and hear one another which is hard to find downtown! I can't wait to return. Thanks G&G!
